I’ve very recently had a change of heart on these efforts to entice and cajole idiots into doing something they should be doing because it is the right thing to do. How is this for an idea that will save everyone a lot of money.

I’m very conflicted on Lucid. I love the idea of 400+mi of range in a high-performance non-tesla sedan, and the car is beautiful. However, they sold a majority share to the Saudi Government, and quite frankly I do not wish to give money to people who kill opposition journalists and oppress women, not to mention their

Preach.

I’m still extremely upset we never got the 6 Wagon

The anti-sexuality of today’s America is actually quite scary to see. Disregarding that they’re bringing itch.io up here for no reason and being stupid which is honestly a quite shameful display, what the hell does it matter if an adult chooses to buy and/or download adult content? What’s next, Pornhub not being

Those are examples, not a full accounting of the cost. As a general rule putting any kind of high water-consumption project out in the middle of a desert is a pretty bad idea but we’ve been doing it anyway for centuries because it’s easy to say “Well it’s a billion dollar project and we’re going to derail it over one

If it’s anything like interacting with Amazon on any sort of non-customer level, the drivers are almost certainly in the dark on a lot of the information they need - by design. Obfuscating everything but the absolute bare minimum to function is how Amazon deals with it’s “partners”, vendors, and employees. It’s a

You saved me a huge amount of typing - exactly what I was going to say. Hot hatches and cheap customizable stuff turned me into a car guy (Ford, particularly)....now almost all that is gone from them and I really don’t care about them as much anymore. That’s many years down the drain for me.

To the whole “screens are progress, if you don’t like them you’re a luddite” crowd... Fuck you!

There will never be simplicity and focus on road/driving until the car builders get rid of screens. Screens draw the eye regardless of where in the car they are ... they are a dangerous distraction to safe driving.

All hail the physical button. Nothing is as safe. It’s always where you left it. There is physical feedback when you use it. No need to ever take your eyes off the road.

Yep, my first Jetta back in ‘92 was this color.

I miss my 1993 Celica GT... this color brings back some fond memories...

I never left....

Visors that can be extended

It calls these drivers “Zoom Zombies.”

That blue paint is fantastic.

And if you have a family of four or five, you can fold down the third row, giving you a massive expanse of usable cargo space. It’s like an enclosed pickup truck back there. Our Honda Odyssey has a roof rack but we’ve never had to use it because everything we could possibly want to bring with us on a road trip fits

I ended up in a Pacifica rental to get from Tulsa to SF. Just me and a ton of shit out of a Big rig, basically a second home. And by the end of the trip I was hooked. Fast enough. Comfortable as anything, kick ass sound system, remote sliding doors are amazing and acres of room.
