I’ve noticed a lot of people in Japan do that at intersections, especially if they’re in the front of the line of cars. I wish that habit would take hold in the US. Every time I go home to visit and drive my little car around, I get blinded by truck lights all the time.

There are more bombastic road trips I dream of taking (like around Europe, since I’ve never been there), but I’m planning a more realistic one right now and hoping to make it happen next year, depending on money and how much free time I can wrangle.

I’m moving home to Michigan in January after a few years living in

I’m bummed about automakers pulling out of car shows. I’m going to be soon moving back to the USA after a few years in Japan, and am very much looking forward to attending the 2019 NAIAS with my dad. We went to it every year from when I was 4 until I moved abroad in 2013 (minus a few years in high school when I wasn’t

I feel like there was a big change in my taste in cars in college, and little gradual ones lately, in my late 30s. I was obsessed with cars when I was a little kid, then sort of lost interest up until I was 19, and made friends with a Japanese exchange student who had a Civic hatchback. I’d never really noticed

Haha, thank you!

The Print-o-Pinto celebrated by going for a nice nature drive with a friend.

Ok I built it! Color-shifted it to blue, just to put a different spin on it.

It is unfair how much I want that car...

Totally agree. My parents have had a few Mazda vehicles from the mid-late ‘00s, and I have one (a 2007 Mazda3), and I think all of the Mazda’s from that era have aged well.

My parents sadly just had to get rid of their ‘05 MPV that they bought new and had well over 200,000 miles on (maybe pretty close to as many miles as this nice example). Got to be too expensive to keep on the road due to recent big engine problems and a bad financial situation. What a good van that was. They are

Every time I see a Rasheen driving around town, I drool with envy.

I noticed that there’s a Mazda 3 in that garage. Maybe the 2 just really wanted to visit its older sibling!

When I was in college, going through a new beater every year due to catastrophic engine failure or other bad luck, I found something lovely. A used car dealer in town had a very nice second-gen Mazda RX-7, in an eye-popping bright yellow, at a pretty good price. I’d fallen in love with them since my roommate had one. T

When I was 21, I had an old Dodge Omni that I was perhaps irrationally fond of (I even painted it metallic grass green, put in a stereo that cost more than the car did, fixed the rust, and swapped out some broken trim parts). That Omni came to an end as I was going through an intersection at night and apparently

Man that looks fun. Good job on the restoration! I’m hoping to try getting to RC cars like this when I eventually move back to the states, where I’ll have more pavement to use.

It’s not so much that I’m not allowed to get one, but that the logistics of life aren’t making it possible. I’ve wanted a Miata since I was a kid and saw a bright blue NA in my neighborhood when they first debuted. In 2016 I made a promise to myself that I’d own an NC or ND (I’m too big to fit in the first two gens)

I had one of those in high school, my first car, in white. I always loved the way they looked. Sadly mine met its end when the driver of a school bus (an empty one, thankfully) ran a red light and tore my car in half. No one hurt except for my beloved Grand Prix.

Vault Boy approves.

In driver’s ed class in high school, we practiced on an Oldsmobile Achieva, very similar to this one:

That smiley face used to bug me, but in the years since I’ve started to like it. I think it has to do with all the cars these days looking needlessly angry. Nice to see a cheerful car.

Turn signals... please use them. It’s not that hard. Just a small, quick motion of the hand.
