i think the difference is samberg also had to juggle a hot new career while working on snl. kenan seems to be quite happy with snl being the primary gig, and occasionally dipping his toes in a sitcom or something.

No, in fact it’s typically normal, you end up doing similar jobs to what your parents do. If your mom is a teacher, she probably talks about teaching, you watch her do teacher stuff, you see her lesson plan.

I watched the trailer (so you don’t have to), and it doesn’t seem like these two people adopted 77 kids themselves. The guy starts preaching to his congregation about children in need of homes, which kicks off a movement in the town of people taking the kids in.

I long ago came down on the side of not blaming people for using family connections, provided they can actually deliver on their own merits. There just aren’t that many people who get by professionally for life on the basis of their parents.  Subsist, hang around the edges?  Sure. 

The wealthiest people my age I personally know were second-generation family business owners who were cut into the equity by their parents before the companies sold.
