Hm...I guess, though I’m not sure I buy that Tangled was made as a response to Shrek.

I’ve never seen a Minions movie so I don’t know anything about any of this.  I’m just not sure what Tangled has to do with Shrek?

I might have liked that movie. I’ll probably still check it out, despite the bad review. For free, though, when it’s on a streaming service I already subscribe to.

Agree!  I got zero inkling of romantic comedy from the trailers.  I’m really confused by this.

That’s what I thought too.  I didn’t gather that the romance was supposed to be at the forefront.  In fact I didn’t see romance in the trailers I saw at all.

And see I thought (from the trailers) that it would be making fun of that conspiracy theory.  I truly didn’t know it was supposed to be a romantic comedy until I read this headline.  I’m wondering if there are a dozen different trailers out there selling different versions of the movie.

I’m very vaguely remembering something--an SNL sketch? a Family Guy bit? I can’t remember the details at all--but the gist of it was that Barney became a monster after all the hatred from parents and turned evil.  That’s what I’m picturing here.

Like, imagine telling on yourself this hard that you didn’t even consider not touching people at all an option.

The reason people make that assumption is because they’re racists who think that it’s impossible for a Black person to be qualified for a prestigious role without getting special favors.  I’m not having a conversation that attempts to give credence to that line of thinking.
