Oh I completely agree. I never felt they were punching down with the gay panic jokes. They always treated gay people as well as they treated anyone else. I remember the episode where Jerry is sitting having a “champagne coolie” with the gay wigmaster dude, and he even gets offended that someone doesn’t think the guy…

That was the joke. She was full of unearned hubris and ran with an idea she had because she thought she was smarter than everyone else because she fell backwards into a position of authority. I fully reject the idea that smart people never make mistakes or bad work decisions or never ignore red flags and do something…

Yeah it’s not a rom-com at all.  There are funny parts but it’s not a “comedy,” and the romance isn’t the main story of the movie.  People call anything a rom-com if a man and woman kiss at the end and that’s annoying.

Being smart doesn’t automatically make you good at marketing. lol And honestly have you seen those dumbass hats people have been wearing the last few years? SNL even made a sketch about them (“Big Dumb Hat”). Honestly she was just before her time with the urban sombrero.

So...to be fair I never understood “puffy shirt = gay” to be the joke there. I didn’t see any suggestion of that. They just said it looked stupid.
