While i respect your right to a discussion, id like to point out that by writing about this game youre giving it an infinite amount more attention than itd get otherwise.

Do you watch Game of Thrones? That has rape in it, and is arguably an awesome show with great characters and stories.
Yup. There is plenty of fantastic art that pushes the envelope of taste with questionable shit, but still retains artistic value by having a story to tell (see: A Clockwork Orange). This is just grossly perpetuating weird, MRA, shithead rape fantasies because you can and think it is edgy and cool. It’s disgusting.
The fact that this game seems to exist purely for the purpose of pushing the envelope is what makes me feel like it really doesn’t belong on Steam and probably is trolling. As a fan of visual novels, I’ve played PLENTY of them with rape, and I can name a few off the top of my head that are awesome games with great…
I really enjoy the game as well. But the negative press and criticism about the game’s performance is 100% justified. On PS4 quick matchmaking is a total mess and leads to glitched quests the majority of the time, game and system crashes are frequent, etc.
My only hope is that this doesn’t sink BioWare. GODDAMN,what a letdown.
I think it’s exactly that fact that means there’s something wrong with the games. They’re supposed to be fun; they’re made to entertain. If an entire subset of games isn’t fun, then there’s a good chance that it’s more just preying on our more obsessive tendencies in videogames.
That’s fine, but in this particular case Ubisoft earlier was making fuzz about how inclusive the game is.
I wouldn’t say the responses are so much “homophobic” as they are “unabashedly ignorant”. You can act like a completely brain-dead jack-ass and still not be homophobic.
You’d have a point.....except for the fact that the feature the DLC directly impacted was a feature directed at the LGBQ community in its marketing.
I’m going to have to disagree with you, here. “You’ll grow out of it” is a pretty common sentiment that LGBT people face, right there with “it’s just a phase” and “you’re just experimenting.”
I have never attended or hosted a Smash party where anyone uses their real names. Not even the one we have at the office.
You are of course welcome to that opinion, friend :) I personally think the vitriol surrounding his character has yet to be substantiated, but I could also see how that opinion could form.
Proof he’s a nazi? Aside from a dumb ass video he made? And please, don’t use the “but he made a video in a nazi uniform” argument, because he was wearing a British soldier uniform.
Making racist jokes does not make one a racist if there’s no true racial intent. That said, it’s good to know your audience and one do so around friends/where you feel it’s fine to do. Pewdiepie imo shouldn’t have done that with the audience he has, mostly being children who are very malleable.
I make racist jokes about black people all the time, though I myself am black. That doesn’t make me racist. Anything can be joked about if one’s goal isn’t to cause harm imo
I was willing to make an account just to agree with this. What is wrong with these people? I mean, I expected the article itself to be ridden with this shit, but it was fairly honest. The comments though. Jesus christ. Top comment, racist trashbag? thats a special kind of stupid.
Jeez, remind me to never EVER read the comments on Kotaku again please.
These articles always remind me that Felix personally murdered the childhood pet of everyone who comments on Kotaku lmao
