Indeed. I share your concerns. Due to Joe Manchin, Democrats were unable to pass the For the People Act to protect voting rights, or even the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. And Republicans will have had four years to refine their process to subvert the will of the voters. I take some solace in the fact that

Nah.

I agree. I take some small solace in the fact that we didn’t know what their ultimate determination was because the force field lowered and they were forced to act.

You being a right-wing fascist kind of makes any comment you have about Star Trek moot.

I hope the big bad is Section 31.  Because they have to be defeated with a finality that can let Trek go back to being aspirational as it should be.

I’d add props to the writers for calling out the Changeling virus for what it was: an attempt at genocide.  Something Star Trek pre-DS9 would never do. But that’s DS9 for you: They have to introduce Section 31 to make Trek less aspirational. Which is a damn shame.

Uhg!  Hard pass.  Tilly is my second least-favorite Star Trek character after Raffi.  Here’s hoping SNW and LD continue for a good long time.

As a vegetarian, I really don’t need to hear this. Uhg! Thanks a lot, Isaac!

What a sweet article! Thanks Sabina! As a huge fan of the original, I’m kind of glad it focused on the OG actors. Never much really liked Legacy beyond the soundtrack. Wish they got Lisberger back to do the sequel. At least we got Tron Uprising which was superior to Legacy in every way. And I loved the animation

Agreed completely. I remember hearing about how the tv sitcom Cheers had terrible ratings its first couple seasons. But an executive believed in it enough to keep it on the schedule. And that ratings climbed and it became one of their most successful shows.

Hope not, but I wouldn’t be surprised. OpenAI was developed as a non-profit counterbalance to for-profit tech companies developing AI. It has since introduced a for-profit arm they say was necessary to keep being able to develop AI. I found that response disappointing, but was somewhat mollified by the fact that the

I agree. They’re like FOX in the old days when they would literally cancel a show after the first couple episodes had aired.

No.  Humans are moving too slow.

You make a very valid point. Different people can like different things and should have the ability to do so.

^^^ThisGuy knows what he is talking about!

This is why I pay for ChatGPT+.  To encourage OpenAI not to insert ads into their system.  If they insert ads, I will cancel my subscription.

This is Star Wars in its ultimate form.

Andor was for grownups. That’s why there is a section of Star Wars fans who didn’t like it. They’re more interested in The Young Jedi Adventures.

I’m hoping for a benevolent AI that treats humans as pets.

Sure sounds like James Gunn is adamant about no more Guardians of the Galaxy after vol 3.  As if it is up to him.
