Somewhere there is a “campy” batman treatment similar to the TV show that someone is going to pull out when the gritty batman movies run their course. It will be hailed as “new” and refreshing“. The cycle of life will keep on keeping on.

agree with your analysis especially the comparisons to Se7en (we get it, it always rains in Gotham and there is no sunlight EVER), and the length...but I gotta say, in spite of Joker being absolutely done to death over the past ~10-15 years, I was most interested to see Barry Keoghan’s Joker in a sequel. I

It’s not Batman fatigue, it’s “grim and gritty” Batman fatigue.

Super hero fatigue i agree with you, kinda bunk.

I want a fucking Batman Beyond movie. You can pick any of the 80s/90s Bruce Waynes to reprise their role but obviously Keaton would be best.

the lead up to The Batman was the least hyped i had been for a premier superhero movie. i mean, of course i was gonna watch it, but i wasn’t counting the days down like i did in the past.

I love the Nolan series, but he was like Batman about five times. Give me the goddamn Batman prowling the streets and canvassing crime scenes like this movie did and not just doing it with one eye trying to get back with his ex.

Me too. I already got my tickets for Dr. Strange 2 and Thor 4 around the corner...I ain't tired of this stuff when this stuff was what I dreamed of as a kid.

Been hearing about “superhero fatigue” for about a decade now. With No Way Home doing record numbers and The Batman doing an eyepopping take with a three-hour Zodiac riff, both in the wake of theaters slowly getting back on their feet from the pandemic, and Dr. Strange 2 probably going to do big numbers piggybacking

I know you are joking but if that idea gets picked up, scorpions will appear in your home

Freeze seems like the logical choice given the tone The Batman ended on and how you can easily work his story into a continuation/reinforcement of that.

Ok, here’s my pitch. Recast batman: ezra miller is the obvious choice. Then bring in Johnny depp and Jared leto as The Joker Twins. Set the movie in 2099 Neo New Gotham. Batman, by this time, is a cyborg killing machine who is serving a brief jail sentence for repeatedly exposing his cyborg genitals to his

With the Twins there is sure some obvious henchmen for Two-Face, but friends, those guys got some personality they would do much better as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum for the Mad Hatter, preferable one not surrendered to his Alice tendencies.

Maybe just a break, then? Read some down-to-earth stuff. Watch procedurals like Law & Order. Whatever your thing is outside of the superhero/sci-fi genre. Or just a media break all together.

I dunno man, what I like about The Batman is how it leans into the camp in a way that feels organic and natural. I could see a gradual ramp-up into the wilder villains. Nolan would never have done that.

I expected to be tired of it by now, but I feel like Scrooge swimming in his money bin with all of the superhero shit coming out.

I really hope this Batman sequel isn’t another “Batman vs Joker” movie. The Joker’s just been done to death, IMHO. I guess I’m fine with him showing up in Arkham, in a Hannibal Lecter-esque role, like he did in this recent movie, but if they try to make him the primary antagonist again, I’m going to punch a puppy.

Great. Can he actually be allowed to figure things out this time and not be led around by the nose by a super-villain seen through the lens of a serial killer FOR THE WHOLE DAMN MOVIE!?!

Maybe they can have Bruce Wayne show up.  All I saw was 3 hours of Emo Batman.
