I don't get you JaFra. From your story... seems like it didn't work at all. You pressured them... they didn't give, and so you bailed. I would have to say that negotiating tactic was entirely unsuccessful.
I'm pretty sure there are smartphone apps to aid a person in drinking the right amount of water each day. Very surprised you didn't mention any of them.
Zip ties and a pair of wirecutters. Two of my favorite things. Great for cable organization. Particularly if you have boxes of spare cables laying around.
Skype for Linux has a pretty huge caveat. Assuming you're running a 64-bit version of Linux... one must install about half a zillion 32-bit libraries to get Skype to run because Skype is only available in a 32-bit version. I see that as a show stopper, but maybe that's just me.
