That may be true, but it's generally more a focus issue. My work doesn't depend on me delving deep into other genres. Which is a failing of mine I'll admit. But whenever i meet someone who's taste i trust, I'll listen to their recommendations.

"But headmaster, could it be two things?"
Going to have to be nerdantic here, but Snape did look after Harry for years even though he hated his father. And Dumbledore did as well (albeit for his own alterior motives).
Excelsior!
She was Sally. Lifetime pass.
YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD TO SHUT UP!
I'm ok with any subject matter for jokes, as long as they transcend their subject matter . These jokes do not. End communication
I saw the Killers open up for Stellastarr* on their first tour in front of 200 people. Flowers was so nervous, it was incredibly endearing. And that was an explanobrag.
Where's Whovian when you need him?
He's the modern-day Don McLean, stringing a bunch of nonsense metaphors together and thinking he's the new Dylan. How on earth do you talk like summer? Or walk like rain!? That doesn't make any sense!
When She-who-must-not-be-named and I were first dating, she told me this song reminded her of me. Upon closer inspection, it should've been a warning sign.
I listen to most genres, but I have no time nor patience for sub-par entertainment in any genre. My first love is punk/indie rock, but when i dabble in other genres it's generally the established Canon. Biggie, Tupac, Wu-tang,Miles, Louis, Coltrane,Patsy,Johnny, Elvis etc.
I'm a musician. I've forgotten more about singing than you'll ever know. But to reiterate my central thesis. Having a pleasant voice does not make you an artist. That's the problem i have with "singers". I prefer people who either write their own songs, or bring something original to the table. Miley's best work…
Lol, I'm a toddler. You're the one resorting to ad hominem attacks because someone disagrees with your opinion. We actually agree with each other, you would see that if you weren't busy being self righteous.
Yes, thank you for wasting all those words on something i already clarified above. There must be a lot of theatre majors on this thread.
I call it the "I listen to everything" mentality. People want to sound cool and say they listen to all genres, yet they don't want to take the time to filter out the crap.
*sighs* I'm tired of talking about this. What you're taking about is interpretation ,not singing. What I'm taking about is this "American Idol/The Voice" mentality that because your voice is pleasing to the ear, you're talented somehow. Just like being 7 feet tall doesn't make you a great basketball player.
I forgot about Priest. Fair enough.
Those ladies are songwriters. My issue is with untalented people getting as much credit as people who bleed for their work.
Wow, a misspelled ad hominem attack instead of a well thought out counter argument. You must've been captain of the debate team in high school.
