In fairness, the car does charge as it drives ...sort of. Unlike the embarrassingly useless Volt, a Tesla will (pretty efficiently) recapture energy through regenerative braking, which is one of my biggest objections to the claim that it’s just a pricier version of other electric cars on the market.
