FFXIV not only has cross saves, but the vanilla game also featured cross play between pc, ps4 AND ps3... Many developers have also claimed such features to be relatively simple to implement IF the first parties are willing to cooperate.

These are all pretty ‘meh’ imho. Not so much ‘Retro’ or ‘Sophisticated’ but instead minimalist and drab.

The Nes classic was a marketing tool for switch and a very clever one at that - it got the masses nostalgia hungry and brought the brand back to the forefront of the media. I doubt Nintendo ever anticipated keeping it on sale.
