“The whole point of being in prison” is one of the oldest and most fundamental questions in politics.

If the end result of a prison system is to eventually churn out a group of angry, psychologically maladjusted people who are only capable of engaging in further criminal activity, I would argue that that prison system

I think you are fundamentally misunderstanding the purpose of prison; which is

I can. Telling her to go pray in church was fucked up.

The articles, titles, and grammar keeps getting worse and worse with Gizmodo stories. Typos, misuse of apostrophes, and completely inaccurate titles are becoming the norm. Proofread your work or have the decency to hire an editor!

Depends which rights. Owning a gun? Sure, ok. Raising your kids so they have some freedom to explore away from adults? Much freer in, say, Germany. Freedom from constant traffic police surveillance? Much freer where I live now, in Thailand. Freedom to build what you want on your property without masses of red tape?

That's simply not true. In fact... we rank pretty low on the list of freedom and personal rights these days among first world countries. I've had to deal with cops in probably a dozen or so countries, and even the cops in Singapore (notorious for its intense and mean police force) were a breath of fresh air compared

It's not just the dolphins. It's the very first "feels like spring" day here and already you can't talk in the front yard for the din of motorcycles and lawn mowers. People LOVE noise pollution. Ever go to the Disney waterpark? It's got louder and older rock music than a Hard Rock Cafe. Americans HATE quiet.

I would venture to say that most marriages are weird. Or they become weird.

Demographically symbolic? More than half of all Americans are women. What type of special demographic is that?

“I have to tell ya–eight years of one demographically symbolic president is enough”

I love how Android allows me the freedom to look like a Winamp skin from 1998.

Have the neighbors vote on which ones they hate the most!

That’s probably why she wants to get back to teaching... marriage is on the rocks, her husband is all old and gross now, and it’s time to find someone more age-appropriate.

Actually, both men served in the Coast Guard. Guess how many stories mention that the victim served compared to those mentioning the murderer served?

Just two things of note
