@Stickarm: Didn't know the CPU had one, that'd certainly qualify. But a fan is also not a shock-sensitive part like an HDD platter.

@ad7863: Well, the quote is for "travelling writers." The MBA is a viable candidate since it's quite light and portable, has no moving parts, exceptional build quality (it doesn't flex at all, and as a longtime thinkpad user I still haven't found a PC notebook that compares), and the SSD makes for impressively speedy

@RubiksCube: Then it's agreed. We both hate RIM for this video!

@AngryBeaver: You would be the eighth, but that's OK. I think maybe 4-5 more and it'll sink in for me.

@anitesh.jaswal: Reading comprehension fail, yep it was Giz's doing. Still, I hate how the video sacrificed *information* for *art* in such a manner. It's like someone was more interested in playing with manual follow focus on their 1080p DSLR than showing what the Playbook is all about.

Ugh, RIM please have a little more time spent on the device itself and interface and less on the artsy-commercial shallow-DOF/quick-pan shots. I can hardly see what's going on and it just ends up being frustrating trying to pause it at the right moment.

"...is loaded with special features."

@tenazrael: Actually, I know very well how it works (I used to be a pro gamer, and back in the day when we had CRTs, there was a HUGE difference between graphics that would sync to 60Hz and 70, 75, 100 and 120+Hz). Imagine trying to fight the "the human eye can only see 30fps" crowd back then!

1. Could be an ipad. Probably easier to implement and less limited by battery life to do it that way.

@tenazrael: Is 1080p60 a common format in consumer camcorders? I imagine the bandwidth and storage requirements for that would make it a bit of a fringe feature.

@Vitto #9: If it really takes 10-15 years for a full 4G rollout, it's likely that it'll get washed aside with whatever "draft" standard people in the real world adopt in the meantime.

@Daz_Genetic: Here here. I'm just glad that after 8 years of wishing, it's finally coming to pass.

Wow. That is an AMAZING shot. Even with a trip to Oman to get the perfect angle, it still boggles the mind that you can get a line-up as perfect as this.

This is almost convincing to me:

I'd like to see a 3D version of that picture!

This is how I'd imagine they would do it. It's much easier to cut a protective glass screen than it is to print an actual curved display and associated electronics. It would also mean that you'd have to deal with extra space/filler for the underlying components, which are presumably on flat PCB. Just not worth it, and

I'm pretty used to wall-eye and cross-eye viewing of 3D stereo images. While I can easily get the plusses to synchronize, I don't see any bizarre colors I haven't seen before. It's not exactly green (as any kid who's peed in a 2000-flushes-blue toilet can tell), but more like a translucent sheet of yellow shimmering

@Caturday Yet?: 1.63GB for CoPilot Live Europe (GPS app). So close.
