@tj: That's simply so awesome. Thx :)

@daniesy: Without the compass, the app only has relative, not absolute positioning. So it may know you're at an intersection, but it doesn't know which direction you're facing.

@tande04: It does still jump a bit, but overall I think it's significantly smoother. Games like Eliminate: Gun Range are quite impressively accurate with the gyro.

@OtakuNoob: What are you saying? I don't even understand how this follows the conversation.

@computermix: Could be the same thing, I dunno. The Alhambra trucks have logos made of a large matrix of blue metallic sequins that blow in the breeze, looking like ripples of water:

@mecha2142: Look down. Look up at your netbook. Its webcam has disappeared. Now look down. Back up at me. The iPhone's front facing camera is now MAGICAL. Anything is possible with the RDF. I'm on a horse.

Reminds me of those Alhambra trucks that used to drive around with water cooler deliveries.

Is this thing as deep as a mac aluminum keyboard? Seems like it'd have a lot of potential (though I'd definitely still keep my mouse around).

@Monty: If you're going to say you're citing the full quote, you really shouldn't paraphrase it.

@Monty: Admitting there is a problem and saying it affects a small percentage of their users, from Applecare and return rate datamining, is not at all mutually exclusive. For instance, I found no problem at all with my iPhone 4, which exihibits bar dropping, and at the Apple Store this Sunday I couldn't get any of the

@Monty: It was during the same 15 minute presentation, which you should take the time to watch at apple.com/antenna. But you claimed "Apple will not admit there is a problem," whereas they clearly have.

@Monty: Have you watched Friday's press release? They admitted multiple times that there is a problem, which is why they're giving out free cases.

From the product image, it looks like there are two strips needed to cover the side, each of which stop just short of the respective ends of the antenna (unless you stretch them to overlap)?

@Kaiser-Machead v.2.1.1: I normally hold the phone in my left hand too, and cupping tightly, or "death grip" with palm bridging the antenna, made no difference in this case.

@Kaiser-Machead v.2.1.1: I think they don't have clear specifically so they can call attention to the product. The screen protector I got came with thin, clear strips that cover the sides and are effectively invisible.

@OtakuNoob: Every company mentioned by Apple has replied, as of course you'd expect. But, have you noticed that nobody has actually come out and refuted Apple's specific claims about their phones? They haven't, because most likely they cannot—the claims are by and large true, which is Apple's point.

@MazdaMania: Same with my iPhone 4. I was just at an Apple store last night and compared it to one of the demo models, and both stayed 5/5 bars no matter how I touched/gripped them. I even took a video of one phone from the other.

@Darthvinder: It's not rather, it's in addition to. They will give out bumpers—as many as they have available, but once those are out, all that's left are third-party sourced cases.

@DingoJunior: I think the point is, for most people who actually own an iPhone 4, it really hasn't shown itself to be a problem in day to day use. I've had one since day one, and of the dozen of other people who also have one, I'm the only one with a bumper (or case of any kind). All of us are pretty avid
