Random 'pinions:
Well, the parts of the Greater LA conurbation that he's running in, have some pretty good Republican-leaning sympathies - at least more than most of the rest of the region. There's the lower-middle-class military-affiliated demographics in Ventura county in the CA-26. And then there's classically wealth-oriented…
I had to look up the current configuration of the California 26th. He might get some pretty good traction on the lower-to-middle class white residents in Ventura and Oxnard. It's hard to imagine him doing much with the higher-income parts of the west Valley, even where they might have right-leaning sympathies like in…
A Swisher sweet, with just a little bong resin piped inside.
When Kala (via Riley) was making the trip to the analytical chemistry lab to get the blocker looked at - a lot of the dialogue sounded ripped off from the latter day Tim Leary-inspired academic pharmacopoeia-speak that circulates around some very specific Left Coast rave culture, certainly.
So, would that make Season 2 bathsalts, and Season 3 molly, with a drain cleaner chaser?
Strangely, there's been just a bit of verve the show has recaptured with its most recent retooling. As much of a loss as Beharie was - it gave the show just a bit of opportunity to zoom in on the show's other major strength, being Tom Mison's irresistibly magnetic charm.
Bonkers, ain't it?
Cougar bait.
I'm glad the both of you, @disqus_8nt0HW43Uo:disqus and @henrytb:disqus have come through alright, all things considered.
There are reasons the Right in this country don't quite match up with expressions of conservatism elsewhere in the world. Most notably that conservative thought here also heavily aligns with a unique strain of individualism that's deeply baked into the ideological DNA of American political thought.
For me, there's something that felt a teensie bit regressive about the beard/hag angle they projected for her last season. That at least some sizeable chunk of Lito's arc was centered on her troubles with Joaquin. Even as mutually consensual as everyone in that particular triangle is - there was an unfortunate…
It's a necessary and important step for the series and the characters to take, I think. There are secondary characters like Bug, Raoul's father, Whispers' boss - who serve well to keep the stakes of the novelty of sensorium alive, even as the Cluster integrates.
I'll admit to finding Bug increasingly grating. Don't get me wrong - I like the actor. And think he's been used reasonably well narratively. It's useful to have a foil for the Cluster growing increasingly familiar and confident.
For my money, I think you've hit on the formula in that particular franchise - letting the characters do the heavy lifting, rather than the plot. It doesn't help that the prequel series got progressively weaker thematically, as it went on.
Feige and company don't give a fuck about making unique and memorable features
I watched it in 2D, with a friend who's overly sensitive to extremely rendered 3D, and still found the movie totally deserves its reputation for the eye-popping VFX, even rendered flat.

Guardians Inferno was an inspired piece of nostalgia fluff, especially for those of us who were around for that weird fad of Stars on 45, Disco Star Wars novelty back in the early-80's.
