You forget that now you have to pay for baggage, boarding position, and “preferred” seating that was either non-existent or was cheaper then it is now.  Sure ticket prices may be cheaper, but you’re paying for a lot of BS that used to be included in the ticket price before.

Not a lot more than I pay today (adjusted for inflation) for a ticket on a traditional carrier (American, United, etc).  The airlines having a crappy business model, all the mergers, and the TSA are the biggest factors why flying sucks IMO

I remember in the way, way before times when airlines didn’t charge to check in a bag (unless it was overweight, or you had more than 1 or 2 if flying international), people dressed and acted decently while flying, and flying wasn’t the equivalent of taking Greyhound.
