Well, kudos to this gentleman and his career endeavors. As a sidebar, i’m more enthused to know about the rankings of black members of Parliament (uh, the UK government not P-Funk). How many are there? How can more racial minorities get into high ranking government roles? when is the UK going to have a black prime

I suspect class would be more of a consideration than race, at this point. So the Prince could marry a wealthy and educated black woman (preferably one with multiple generations of being wealthy and upper-class) without much fuss - certainly with less fuss than when King Edward VIII married a commoner white American

A quick question about the headline:

She identifies as “a strong, confident mixed-race woman”.

Thanks for the information. I just find the topic interesting to discuss. Why or how a person comes to the decision. Did they decide to self-identify, or is it determined by how society sees them? In my son’s case it’s the later.

Hey *High Five* I read 1984 too!

He’s the first black man to have the job, and I’m going to go ahead and assume this isn’t because black folks have been trying not to get hired to it for hundreds of years.

Doubt that would matter much. European racism against blacks tends towards a high level of cultural paternalism, with lots of reference to language that simply mystifies Americans (see: Nazi claims that Finns and Hungarians are not Caucasian but rather Mongoloid), and in the UK a huge amount of religion being used to

It’s a job held in esteem and probably widely valued by most of the society who cares about this thing, so...I’m more like “meh.” So, good for him. It’s not my bag, but if he’s the first black person to hold this title, it’s not like the royal family was going out looking for high-end black servants.

Does it even matter when she’s not shy about being photographed with her mother? I’d say that’s answer enough to the question.

I honestly don’t think he’d get the blessing from the family. They don’t really care who the hell Prince Harry marries for obvious reasons.

Meh, black attendants to royalty is a part of a dying civilization attempt to reach out to their external proletariat, as it loses the confidence of its internal proletariat.

Stevie Smith wrote down her POV in Voices Against England in the Night

This thing reads to me as rich old white lady has a black person take care of her. Driving Ms. Daisy, in its Anglo form.

I mean, is you is or is you ain’t?

Charles chose that himself because he was still listening to, previously killed by the IRA, Mountbatten’s dated advice to try and marry a women that had no serious previous relationships. And Diana was basically steamrolled into it by propriety. Look how all that turned out. Endless scandal, royal divorce and Charles

You have a problem defending , and bringing “freedom” to other parts of the world soldier?

I think he needs a better hat, that topper does not fit him properly. Maybe it is the angle of the photographer, but I don’t know, it seems a little oversized.

There’s also education and jobs, sometimes.

US Army veteran here. Amazing how the best (and almost only) way for black people to build a regular life for themselves in the west is signing up to fight wars for the white elite....
