I guess ranking on FCA is all the rage lately, but I have driven Chargers and 300s and I have always been impressed by them. Very good handling and much better interior features than an Impala IMHO.

Better yet...a regulation to STOP morons from parking on a street, facing the oncoming traffic, with headlights (and not parking lights) on! This is really dangerous, and is getting more common.
My dad sold Chryslers and Plymouths and we LOVED when he would get Arrows or Sapporos to drive. Fun, sporty cars that were relatively well built and easily outhandled everything else we’d ever ridden in.
I am 100% sure someone will trash this response, but we owned a Jeep Compass for three years (sport, 5 spd, 2.4L) and it was fine. We needed a cheap SUV and frankly everything priced near it (Kias, Hyundais, even Mazda CX5) was really unimpressive. So we held our noses and bought the Jeep for about $4,000 less. We…
Saw the play in real time. There was almost zero contact and the guy coming at him let up and tried to pull back. But of course Newton got up and feigned contempt right away. Sorry, you’ll have to sell something more compelling if I am to have any sympathy for Cam “treat me like a crystal statue” Newton.
Really glad I bought my 2-door in 2016! I really preferred both the look of the 2-door, and the fact that my long legs can fit WITHOUT my head being behind a pillar.
I own a 2016 GTI 2 door. We previously owned a Mini and I love the current Cooper S, and looked at several. But in the end the GTI was roomier and faster. With two kids, I need the car to be able to haul them and their junk some of the time. I've been happy. It's a rocket, but a practical one.
Re: VW. I scored a GTI (2 dr. S - 6 spd) in late December with $1,000 rebate and for over $1,000 under invoice. Maybe the deals will get better, but I was out the door way cheap and am pretty darn smitten with it. I had priced them before the scandal and was not getting that deal. Maybe the dealer was taking a big…
The drones our military uses are not autonomous.
I am definitely not in agreement. I liked TG USA...honestly it grew on me and over time I found I enjoyed the episodes more than the increasingly self-congratulatory original TG. Was it perfect? No. But I found all 3 hosts sincere, and not prone to extreme over-acting. And, like original TG, there was still plenty of…
Good luck with that. In good tune these can run mid 14 to 15-second quarters, which will at very least nudge the best that a Camry or minivan can do. The 80s were slower, but not every 80s car is slow.
Oh for f^&%s sake I hate comments like this. Kat I have enjoyed your articles and am glad the Jalops invited you in. There, an attempt at balance!
I remember test driving a BMW 318ti in January 1998. I had basically sold myself the car before driving it...light weight, hatchback, rear drive. I drove it and was just stunned by the poor interior fit and finish, and how soul-crushingly slow it was. I drove a Saab 900 turbo the next day, and bought one of those for…
These cars were 305-engined cars. Writeup incorrectly states a 350. There was no 350 in these 82-85. I am guessing this mill, with mods, was good for MAYBE 175 hp.
Wow...”gorgeous”...ummm no. This is a very modest restyling, and honestly I prefer the old “grille” (even though I never considered it a grille).
I am a GTI owner (and a former Mini owner) and I love the car. But I am actually quite tired of people talking up “hot hatches” like they are super practical. My GTI can do family hauling duty in a pinch, but frankly every sedan I looked at had more real-world passenger and cargo room. These cars (possibly excluding…
We're going to need to agree to disagree here. I didn't much care for it before, and now I think the word "cartoonish" is on point.
I am sure it will go down...but I voted nice price. These Shelby GLH Omnis were actually very potent in their day, and could leave the GTIs and Civic Sis of the time n the dust. And, IMHO, they have aged well, certainly better than the K cars. I have always had a soft spot for them. So for a pristine copy of the…
The car that SHOULD have saved Studebaker. But they didn't get production where it should be, and didn't reinvest the profits it gave them in the early 60s. The Lark was a really smart play, and in my humble opinion is still the best looking American compact until about 1964.
No BS, my father sold Plymouths during this time, and these little beasts were a ton of fun. We had a 1980 Fire Arrow...2.6L engine, stick shift, took off with gusto! And the graphics...very 70s-tastic!
