Nice writeup. I do have one pedantic point that I’d like to make.

I’m not 100% on this, but my understanding is that the goal is to drive innovation while still allowing consumers the freedom the buy the vehicles that they want. Typically, when gas prices increase, consumers buy more fuel efficient vehicles. Fuel prices tend to fluctuate independent of fuel economy standards (in

Then the only way to ‘reach’ the goal for automakers would be to jack up prices on larger vehicles in order to make them less attractive, and/or subsidize the price of the smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles that people don’t actually want, but better meet CAFE standards which both sides agreed weren’t realistic

Except 20L has the “20L” printed in great big letters. I can see how a private pilot on VFR could make the mistake. I’m not a private pilot - so correct me if I’m wrong, but if he knew at any point that he was lined up on the taxiway, my understanding is that proper procedure is to abort the landing and go around.

From what I’ve read on VWVORTEX, the jb4 doesn’t seem to get you much over the jb1 unless you intend to do a lot of additional tuning (down pipe, etc). The connections on the jb4 are a bit less seamless too, so removing and reinstalling it will be more cumbersome than the jb1 (for warranty purposes). With respect to

Seems legit. However, I’m curious as to which will be the better value over 3 years of ownership. New car warranty vs used car warranty, and also which one will retain more value? Early research suggests that the R is looking like a better value. We shall see, though. (My used unicorn S4 Avant depreciated like a

I agree with everything that you said, but one thing to keep in mind is that the R requires a little extra money to handle even mild tunes. Specifically, the stock clutch is a weak point. It uses the same pressure plate as the GTI (AFAIK), and it can barely handle the stock power. The Burger Motorsports JB1

I respectfully disagree with everything that you just said. Then again, I bought a Golf R - so I may be biased. If I were going to have one car to do it all and I only cared about performance above everything, sure, the RS is a better buy.

Amen. My NB sport had the worst seats of any car I’ve ever owned.

Real cars that real people can buy, eh? It very well might be that the last one of these that won Daytona was this 1973 911 RSR that Hurley Haywood drove in ‘73 and again this weekend during the pre-race parade laps (and it was awesome that he was the only one allowed to open it up). This restored 59 was displayed

FWIW, I crawled underneath to get a glimpse of the motor on the grid and saw nothing. Just the raw metal plate underneath. However, from the back, I should only see transmission and exhaust. Can we still call it a 911 without 4 seats and an engine in the back?

The GTLM class stole the show. 22 hours in, and we saw 5 (basically 6) cars nose-to-tail. Just fore the 23 hour mark, the Porsche started pushing hard and managed to make it into second before he used up his tires. Everyone in the Porsche hospitality box was on the edge of their seat as the RSR held off the Ferrari

Before I stopped riding, my last bike was a 2006 SV650S that I bought new. Neat little bike...very uncomfortable for long trips, though (the riding position that the clip-on bars imposed was less than ideal. Still I had a lot of fun on that thing.

Why does it have to be one or the other? It is certainly possible that Matt is both huge and sucks huge cocks.

Wow. Just wow. I’m still trying to work out the thought process that leads to an evacuation of a sliding car. Do these drivers consciously decide to make the worst possible choice in this situation, or does it just come naturally to them?

It would be fantastically ironic if the train derailment leading to the destruction of 120 BMW was caused by a signaling problem?

    IMO, it wouldn’t fly, Stef.

Came here to post this. Leaving satisfied.

Also note that both the camera car and BMW driver ran the red light.

I’m shocked to see that the BMW driver did not use his turn signal at any time during this video.
