If it were a track-only (or race) car, I’d likely have a fire system plumbed in. However, this is more of a street car. Further, with this car, I’m more concerned about electrical fires and most fire systems are typically best equipped to deal with fuel fires. I’ve already ripped out and replaced the fuel lines, so…
There are quite a few things to like about the Singer - they’re incredible cars with fantastically meticulous attention to detail. However, for that money, there are also things that I don’t like. As much as it’s an inferior technology, I’d prefer a torsion bar car - as this was pretty much every original 911 (except…
It’s a modern fad among 911 restorers. The center-hood fuel filler was originally used in the 1967 911R. This is among the most rare and desirable 911's ever made, as it was a no frills light-weight racing model that purists drool over. It had technology like bamboo hood supports and redesigned tail light buckets to…
The beauty of this is that they’re bespoke cars. If you’ve got the scratch, you can order it any way that you want :)
My last car had a rear fog light, and I only used it to flash at tailgaters :)
If someone wants to go faster than me on a 2-lane road, I’ll find a safe place to pull off and let ‘em by.
This is a meaningless term, using two words that mean the same thing redundantly. Rate is another term for velocity, as is speed. Just say high speed.
What did that solve? You just made a dangerous situation even worse. There were so many safer ways to have handled that situation.
Just so we’re clear...tailgating doesn’t justify brake-checking on a highway, right?
Clearly you’ve never been in a serious car crash...or been an EMT or first responder. Having been been in all three, I cal tell you that you are wrong, that driver was lucky to have not lost their life or been seriously injured. Even a 15 MPH crash into a hard object can cause serious injury.
On the bottom right, there’s a link that reads “Permanent link to these settings”.
Send me the link to your search. Mine is in the post. We can compare.
That makes sense. Something to consider in professional racing: believe it or not, it’s not a meritocracy. If a driver cannot inspire a team and attract sponsors early in their career, they can be a ridiculously amazing driver and never get their professional off the ground. In higher levels of professional…
10kt - I didn’t do city center, though. I was replying to the poster who suggested a detonation in the harbor.
I didn’t pick the winds, they were chosen by the application. Feel free to make your own corrections and post a link.
While I don’t disagree that race driving involves a high degree of physicality, I do not believe that this precludes women from being competitive in the highest levels of auto racing (see Michèle Mouton, for example). Racing is not analogous to baseball and football in this sense.
This statement is extremely sexist. Just because auto racing has traditionally been gender biased does not excuse accepting it going forward. Providing tacit approval because it’s always been that way is unhelpful. Do you really believe that men are somehow better at driving a race car than women?
