Not really, but the chances of him actually handing this darn thing down to his kids, which by the way don’t even exist yet, is slim. So I figure he should just enjoy the car for now.
I can tell you how this is gonna play out:
Nope. You’d spend more than $4K attempting to get rid of the mold, and probably still wouldn’t get it all. That car would have to be stripped clean, and every inch of leather and fabric replaced. That’s bad enough, but then you’ve got a rusty dent on a compound curve. CP.
what’s the beetle’s power to (suspension + brakes) ratio?
Im always amazed they made a button for setting the clock, but didn’t make a button to take you to the radio/now playing!
Who the FUCK is paying 50k for these things? I went to college, I make 6s, I don’t have kids, and I can’t imagine paying 50k for something like this.

Just came in here to say:
I like the Merkur. They do excellent doughnuts. However at the risk of lowering the reading level of discourse on this site, without a stickshift, what’s the point?
Seriously, isn’t there enough ammo for them to use to get folks to stop eating meat? Instead of ridiculous links to racism, they can talk about the health aspects or the animal treatment aspect until the cows come home.*
So when will we find out that every VW EV actually has a tiny diesel engine powering it?
I totally agree... I don’t know if a competitor(?) did an effective disinformation campaign with all these “automotive journalists” about this topic. It was just weird to see all these articles at the time fixated on a stupid distinction that made no difference.
The gen 1 has aged shockingly well. It’s still an attractive car today.
Exactly. This entire post basically comes to the conclusion that because the car didn’t sell amazingly and take over the world, that it is an inferior product. The 1st Gen Volt was by far the best hybrid you could get, and really the only plug-in hybrid that really took full advantage of plugging it in.
+1 on this being more handsome than the 2nd gen. They diluted the styling.
I think you’re seeing part of the problem. People never understood what it was. If anyone had ever bothered to drive it for a week, they’d love it. I did.
Even then, the Volt wasn’t a range-extended EV as we had been told to expect, but a pretty normal plug-in hybrid. There was a big to-do over whether the gasoline engine actually drove the wheels or not, and it does.
What went wrong:
The work environment being toxic was an intended part of the show. It was never meant to make the audience feel comfortable.
