I know a Ferrari bodykit when I see one.

Wool is better than leather if you want true luxury. The only reason not to have wool is if you expect to have a messy car, from kids, offroading, etc.

Tis truly a shame, because that car looks damned good in person.

Make it drive like the ATS, and have an interior nicer than the CTS. Get rid of the terrible gauges that look like they belong in a 90's Cavalier. Give CUE the biggest refresh that the world has ever seen, or scrap it altogether.

Everyone loves the way the Fiesta drives, but with its abysmal reliability ratings, and absolutely useless rear seat, you’d be a sucker not to spend the 5% more on a vastly superior Focus.

I’m on my 4th Voltec since 2012 (12' Volt, 14' ELR, 15' Volt, 17' Volt). I love this car!

I also paid 18k for a very lightly used, completely loaded Volt about 2.5 years ago and I couldn’t be happier. It’s been to the shop twice, both for mandated yearly inspections. I live in a city so I only use gas when I leave town and even then I can set my watch by 38 mpg going 75-80 with the a/c on blast.

I have a 6 year old Volt and can confirm. The cars are cheap to run and for other reasons not mentioned:

You listed manual like it’s a negative. Bless your heart.

I meet all of those qualifications.. The problem is, they left out the part where both drivers in that married + kids relationship need to have six figure incomes to afford this car. 60k plus for many versions of this wagon? Please. Families with kids in daycare and normal incomes have no shot at this car.

Cars have gone way faster than 300 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Why isn’t Bugatti just using their tires?

Tire noise and only tire noise. Clicked for the bait and left disappointed. As it is now, I suppose.

“...it sounds characteristically premodern, like a distant volcano cracking open, or an entire island collapsing into the sea lots and lots of tire noise”

Interstate travel Is where fast charging is needed. It’s not needed at home. At home, a regular level 2/220v plug is actually the better option for longer battery life when used for overnight charging.

With CHAdeMO and CCS, the vehicle’s BMS communicates with the charger to set charge rate limits. So, Tesla could do protocol conversion (or just natively speak the protocol and use a passive adapter) and make this work.
