So, besides opening close to the car (which sliders have done since, what, 1984?), what is the advantage I’m missing here?  They are the most complicated door in any car on the market and I fail to see any real value in comparison to everything else Tesla could’ve done.  For instance, they could’ve put powered sliders

I’m aware of the laws, but also disagree completely that it’s dangerous.

Waving hello from Chicagoland, where the Volt (plugged in to 110V) and CRV (and M3) live outside in the driveway and the Suburban takes up way too much space in the garage.

Even as a car person, I legitimately can’t discern the various Subaru models.  They literally all look the same to me.  It’s as bad as trying to tell an A4 from an A6

Disagree. I like having power-only ports in rental cars in case I don’t always want the phone to connect to the infotainment. I prefer *not* having my phone connected to a rental car, and instead just use earbuds all the time.

The chassis on these buses are ROBUST.  They have extremely beefy drivelines, and although they seem simple, they are almost all “custom” because of the needs of the various districts/routes.  And there is no real “economy of scale” because it’s not like they are building 50,000 of these per year, so it’s a lot of

In 2021 or 2022, maybe this was worth trying on for a bit...but no, not for me.  This is an interesting car, and maybe the Petersen Museum wants it, but $17,500 buys a lot of other things...

This is SO TRUE and I have no idea why manufacturers aren’t realizing this and providing hybrids for their full-size SUVs.  Let the small commuter cars go full EV, as those are much less likely to be used on road trips and make more sense with smaller battery packs/range.  Let the 3-row SUVs go hybrid for at least

This reminds me of the Chicago NASCAR race this year. I’m not even a NASCAR fan, but my wife suggested getting tickets for the family since we’re local to the event. It was going to be over $2k for the four of us to have the most basic grandstand seats for the 2-day event. I said NOPE...not that interesting. I turned

I saw someone at Target the other day in a Model X with these stupid doors way up in the sky and all I could think to myself was how this driver feels about the conspicuous nature of simply opening/closing these doors. I guess it’s my own insecurity showing, but I would be so self-conscious with a car like that,

I have no dog in this hunt, but I’m very curious what the automakers in the South have to say about all this. BMW’s plant in Greenville, SC is a non-union shop, and I imagine most others are as well. Hyundai is building a massive plant outside Savannah, GA, which I’m sure will be non-union. In fact, they’ll probably

Dude really needs to get a vanity plate that just says “GAMUT”

Company seems to be “Lyten,” not Lytten.   www.lyten.com

The Cybertruck is such an ugly, late-to-the-party piece of garbage...I can’t wait for it to be a huge flop when it finally does show up.

I think when something this dumb is caused by driver inability/inattention, the insurance company shouldn’t have to pay out.  The driver SHOULD be fucked.

Exactly.  Guarantee these will all be online soon.  Which I guess is somewhat funny, but the part that grosses me out is knowing that someone definitely was driven around in that car right afterward.  Nope.

I like your sense of humor and would enjoy grabbing a drink.

I agree with you and am wondering why there isn’t a push for EVs with smaller packs that can charge at the high rates.  For instance, 150 mile range, but charge from 20-80% in like 5 minutes.  That’s the recipe we need.  No need to tote around a 400 mile pack when most days only need 40-60 miles between full charge

Swap those nasty Walmart hubcaps for some recent Honda alloys with better offset and it’s an instant upgrade for me.  I bet they’d get more than the price of the alloys if they just did the swap and took new photos.

If you can’t tell that a car is de-catted after taking one whiff from nearby, you need to take a COVID test.
