Every moment you own and drive the 924 you will be wishing you invested that money in a 944. Just like when I had my E36 325is and all I ever wanted was all the goodies that came on an M3. Your take is wrong.

2.5 miles in work clothes is basically a 45 minute walk. You’re not going 4 mph in khakis and a button down with a backpack on...or with a winter coat and boots. I feel like comments like this must come from the sunbelt....
Yes. This. You get my point.
To me, this is the PERFECT environment for EV racing. The runs are super short and massive EV torque/power is so well suited for drifting. And for the noise, wouldn’t this be a great opportunity for the aftermarket audio manufacturers to partner up and figure out how to make GOOD sounds for EVs? When is the last…
I really do like old Volvos and they have a great cult following, but I feel like I wouldn’t be able to convince my family that driving around in this old shoebox is cool.
Sometimes it’s just SO OBVIOUS why a car is rare.
I’m confused...the link you shared shows that D2XX *was* the 2nd gen Volt platform, which used updated Voltec hybrid drivetrain. It’s already the platform for the Equinox/Terrain, so I don’t see why those couldn’t/wouldn’t be adapted to use Voltec... I think long range BEVs are great, but I also think for around…
you sure about that? I know they killed the Volt, but they didn’t say they were getting rid of Voltec powertrain. In fact, they’ve been teasing a crossover for years. Do you have inside knowledge or a link?
Haha! Or literally any other type of outdoor activity where you don’t want to run the engine all the time... Having the larger battery would be helpful. Toyota hybrid setup runs the engine basically all the time.
Engine covers in luxury cars don’t bother me. People don’t ever “pop the hood” at a car meet. But in a sports car, I think the ability to view the engine is still an important part of the experience. For me, new Porsches are not on my list, primarily for this reason. Even the 996/997 had *some* views...
Not the same, as it doesn’t have a big enough battery. In my Volt, for example, I can run A/C or heat all night long without the engine running if I’m setup in the Voltebago....
When these came out, they were “meh”...and when the MkIV came out, every single thing was better, which is why the values on these plummeted. This is coming from a person that worked at a VW/Audi dealership in 1997-99...
GM really needs to use a variation of the Voltec platform. Use a 2.0 liter turbo 4 as a generator/power booster, setup as FWD and then use batteries/electric motor to drive the rear wheels. This way you can at least go camping without needing to plug in somewhere. Come ON. Someone has to do this. WTF. It’s so…
Does this female have no fear reflex? No idea that this might land her in a bad position with an entire culture? Ugh. People.
As soon as I read this was in Pekin, that’s all I needed to know...
Seems like we need windowless padded transportation orbs that are durable enough to bump into each other like pinballs. Then, we can flow down the freeway, lightly tapping each other on the way to our destination, all the while watching TV or having a conversation inside the orb.
Cool. Still wouldn’t be my choice if I actually had $200k to spend on a single car.
Exactly! They are cool projects, never given enough time or funds.
Fair enough. I guess I just want you to succeed in a more complete manner because your projects are cool and deserve to make their journey
Dude. 1996. That was the business.
