I don’t know if we’re still doing this, but this is Comment of the Day.
To jazz guy: you’re never going to like jazz and don’t sweat it. Noel Gallagher said it best: why would I want to listen to four guys play four different songs at the same time?
As a Caps fan, I’m still struggling with having to go through this all again, but Ovi’s production was (slightly) down this year if you look at overall points, mostly because he was playing fewer minutes and had a lot more support. Oshie, in particular, was a goal-scoring force this year that he wasn’t last year. Ovi…
I was unable to watch this and am really sorry I missed it. I was a little confused that Nike would do this on a “course” that was just 17 laps. Running the curves seems like it would shave fractions of a second off every lap. Is that really the ideal course on which to make such an attempt? Any sports…
You might be able to do that, but you would also likely ruin the athlete for the rest of his or her career. Running downhill feels easier (because: gravity) but downhill running is murder on your legs (because: gravity). Good way to grind cartilage into dust.
This is basic economics. Increase the supply to meet the increased demand. There is no other housing policy that works effectively to produce affordable housing.
Oasis: Over-, under-, or properly rated?
I get why people may hate on Ovi (playoff exits, past defensive lapses), but I’ve concluded he’s one of the most thrilling athletes I’ve ever watched. Every shift, there’s the chance he might do something ridiculous.
I was listening to the game in the car, and it prompted the usual idiocy from the Washington radio team. Doc Walker — who is a barely functioning adult to begin with — thought this was a great play and blamed it on Sproles. “If you’re man enough not to call for a fair catch, then be man enough to take the whipping,”…
I get it, and I don’t disagree with your or LPShea. Kaep just seemed different that breakout year. Cannon arm, seemed to have some pocket awareness. I never fell for RGIII, who was clearly just making it up as he went along, even when he was successful; Kaep seemed to have a much more complete set of tools.
In Kaepernick’s breakout year, I thought I was witnessing the debut of the quarterback of the future. It was thrilling to watch him. I’m not even a 49er fan, and his decline has been one of the most befuddling things I’ve seen in sports the last few years.
Don’t tell ‘em Ybor City almost killed us again....
Exactly. I live in DC, and have had this conversation more than once in the last week. Now more than ever is the time that thoughtful, dedicated civil servants need to man their post. The federal bureaucracy has a ton of power that it usually (not always) wields for the benefit of the public.
Spot fucking on, Sobchak. If only I had more stars to give.
Thank you for this. I’m tired of liberal Democrats complaining about Obama’s ineffectiveness; by any reasonable metric, he had a hell of a first term, in the teeth of the worst economic meltdown in 80 years and an intransigent minority in Congress. I’m not even all that big of an Obama fan, but as an amateur student…
This is a fun team to root for, a complete collection of characters. A huge chasm between the likability of the players/manager and the foulness of the front office/ownership.
This is the best way to recognize if you’re an asshole:
Maybe if Adrian Beltre did this, Elvis would stop fucking around with his head.
If you think WSU was anyone's second choice, you haven't met WSU students. More like "safety school after every other one rejected them."
