Maybe once a big cat has actually eaten human, it will be more likely to see a similar form and attack—less of “liking the taste” of human than “developing an instinct” to see humans as prey?

I picture those two guys as the tiny angel and devil sitting on Mike Pence’s shoulders... whispering in his ears... in a battle for his soul.

It wasn’t just “a” tree, there were many many trees down, onto the catenary wires as well as the tracks. Trains aren’t known for their ability to drive over debris on the trackbed — this isn’t the Montreal Metro with its pneumatic tires. Most of the areas with the worst damage are more than 40 miles from New York City

Honestly, that’s the question. Why is the biggest transit system in the USA getting shut down by an inch of rain and a tree?

The demolition derby coming out of airport rental car depots in Florida isn’t enough for you?

An abortion.

Ok, I’m obviously a homer on this but the 2-1 only happens there due to a slew foot on Maatta by none other than Tom Wilson.

Totally agree with you.

you’re making a lot of assumptions. first that anyone excluded him from any community, and second that he was just innocently ignorant, as opposed to belligerent in his disregard for safety and sound construction.

I know basically nothing about cars other than how to drive them, and I know even less about the auto community. That being said, this advice is great and should apply to all areas of interest. Being helpful and kind is free, and if you try it, it also makes you feel good about yourself.

Yeah... That sucks. I too would like to build a tubular frame vehicle at some point, so I have some empathy for this guy. I’m going to welding classes, but even when I’m done, I don’t think my first project would be a roll cage or a vehicle designed to mix with regular automotive traffic, or go over 10mph. But, you

Yeah I think I understand what he’s trying to say but I’m not sure I agree. The disclaimer seems to suggest that a LOT of people REALLY tried to help him out on this, but at this point, any criticism, no matter how educated, reasoned, measured, well-intentioned, or helpful, is “hating.” Nobody was gonna get through to

At the same time it’s entirely possible to have a close knit, support group of morons.

There’s a culture of drift missiles and just super janky project cars lately. I follow at lot of these people because it reminds me not everything has to be show car quality to have fun.

At the same time these groups tend to scoff at

This idea isn’t “stupid” it’s just that this individual didn’t know what he didn’t know.

I am a professional welder. Apart from exhaust and patching body panels, will not do a cage because I have ZERO experience with them.

This guy seemed to be living the dream, a true Jalopnik. His IG is all about the build and enjoying it. RIP. sad story.

This is a really good point. I think we’ve all seen people get berated for not knowing something in the car world, when people could have easily just been helpful.

don’t worry, mexico will pay for it.

Now playing

I was thinking of posting an OK Go vid, but then I thought, why not be original:

A Tesla spokesperson gave Jalopnik the following statement:
