Nailed it.

After seeing Baby Driver this week I got out my Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Modern Lovers cds: especially loved Plastic Fang and Back in Your Life. I also pulled out Graham Parker & the Rumour's Live at the Marble Arch and the compilation Live Stiffs Live. What can I say; I'm old.

I played What's Happening Brother about 10 times today after reading your post.

Great pick. Innervisions, too, is a masterpiece. It helped me pry my wife away from her then fiance, when I made her a mixtape with some Stevie, some Al Green, some Big Star, some VU, and an original.

West! West! No contest there.

I love this site and all you funny people. I have to conceal my giggling at this meeting.

This sounds like a great Raymond Carver story.

Okay, I want to hang out with Wullie and Jean-Luc. My daughter got me 2 tix to the Willie Nelson / Dylan / Sheryl Crow festival that hits Detroit pretty soon. She wants to see them with me, as my Fathers Day present, just like when we went to see the Who doing Quadrophenia.

Lauren Bacall may rank 3rd in hotness in that film, and that's not including Elisha Cook, Jr.!

No, the Motor City Roller Rink on Van Dyke and 9 Mile. After the show Mick and Joe went to Lili's in Hamtramck where I got to smoke a spliff with Mick, before Lili and her boys hustled him down to the basement.

I didn't record the episode so as to quote it better, but Bullock's line about Barnes not being sighted was great. "He's in armor and he has an axe for an arm? I know this is Gotham but come on!" (badly remembered, sorry)

Yes sir. Great pick.

Yep. Ezrin found Hunter in Mitch Ryder's band Detroit. Wagner was already known around Detroit for fronting The Frost. Their work on Rock n Roll Animal (and Lou Reed Live) is, for me, spiritual.

The Boston Rag! Good pick, and now I'm going to listen to it.

Thanks for bringing that up!

Prep, no snark, can I just tell you how many times you make me laugh? Me and you are friends, no matter what you say.

Also noteworthy: Winn stealing all his scenes, especially when he figures out how Alex got her location out to be traced. He is so much better served this season than last, when he was the friend zone kid.

It's been an honor to share my laugh with you.

Yeah, the insult to injury aspect is Varner claiming it proved Zeke's deceptiveness. Ugly, ugly argument.
