Seriously. Would you tell the people who complain about diversity in movies “just watch small indies instead, and eventually the big studios will get the message and change?” First of all it makes no sense, and secondly, the goal is to have diversity everywhere, in big companies and small, so minorities and women have

IN Chicago, people who are in the habit of picking up gallon glass jugs of beer from the nearest microbrewery. People FROM Chicago using that term? No.

I was trying to do math in terms of population density and that was the best estimate I could come up with.

A million stars to this comment. Also anytime I hear West Town I am  reminded how Cabrini was rebranded as East Village.

That’s LESS than 1/8 of the city, more like 1/25th. We have over 70 neighborhoods. The south side itself is larger than the north side. It’s a shame but the entire image of Chicago is created and dominated by hip, young white people from the north side. They are the ones who get their articles and books published,

The trailer was positively cringe inducing

It’s his emotional age and also his I.Q.

For now. Get ready for a south side Logan Square.

Feminist clotes line and a beyonce song but no model of color?

Of course I was exaggerating a bit, but as someone else commented, even a 250-300 person agency can’t handle a huge account. The reality is that it’s simply not as easy as saying “find a more diverse agency and hire them” - there’s been massive consolidation in the agency space and the choices are much more limited

Yup. As it is there are teams dedicated to single clients in some places. The client leaves, everyone is let go.

I get where you’re coming from. In the ad world, a small or midsized agency could still have 350 employees, mainly because your conglomerates have over 20,000 employees.

Smaller companies can’t handle the full scope of work that a huge brand needs though. If you’re a tiny 5-10 person small business, you’re simply not going to be in the running for a $100M account. It would be like hiring an architect used to designing suburban homes to build an arena. Even hiring smaller firms for

The thing is even the smaller agencies especially in New York are shockingly white...

You forgot about the best TV show about working at a magazine: Living Single.

Didn’t we already have this when it was called Ugly Betty? Which ABC then ruined and drove into the ground (though I did legit love its last episode).

If you are that bored in Chicago, you’re doing it wrong. Other than a stint in NYC, I’ve been here for 42 years and still wonder in the people and neighborhoods and culture.

I could see Angelina getting out ahead of the whole shit and doing a really well crafted interview.

i just snorted coffee out of my nose.

I just want this interview done Billy on the street style.
