Yeah, but, Ricky Martin had verified girlfriends along with the rumors. He was in that George Michael space at the time. Where we weren’t sure if he was gay or bi or still questioning. We just knew he wasn’t 100 percent hetero.

He wanted to work. His break was in a gay-themed movie. His biggest role was playing a gay man on TV. He probably was shitting himself that he’d be typecast and only get to play gay roles for the rest of time. Or, worse, only Jack MacFarlane type roles.

I never faulted him. I liked his work going back to “Billy’s first Hollywood kiss”. Where he was much less “obvious” than the Jack MacFarlane character. But I knew he was gay. EVERYONE who saw that movie knew he was gay.
