I’ve had a couple cars with worn-out shift linkages where it was really guesswork which gear you were going to hit. Straight 1-2 and 3-4 shifts were usually OK, but if you were downshifting from 5th to 4th there was a non-negligible chance you’d catch 2nd or snick reverse.

They hate them so much, they’re allowing Chevy owners to intermingle with the Teslarati.

Yup. What’s the point of paying a premium for a Tesla if you have to interact with the little people? ;)

Evidence certainly points in that direction, yes.

I’ve been known to play Bach at fairly high volume, with subwoofers. I wanna feel those pedal tones.

We used to live in a complex with a next door neighbor who had a noisy dog and an upstairs neighbor who had a noisy toddler. I used to say that dogs and kids shouldn’t be raised in the city. I was only half joking.

Not to mention that it’s perfectly legal for Deaf people to drive.

To be extra safe, make sure the polka music has a political message.

Nah, people of all races and walks of life listen to loud music. I’m saying only the minorities will actually get ticketed for it. The white guy with the punisher skull sticker listening to Garth Brooks loudly in his pickup truck is never going to be pulled over.

Harley riders are often Republicans, who are allowed to annoy people with impunity. The law protects them, but does not bind them.

Yup, and nearly always enforced very unevenly.

This seems likely to be used purely as an excuse to hassle minorities. The fact that they didn’t include any kind of objective standard is very telling.

Funny, although as someone who takes it I feel the need to point out that lithium is a mood stabilizer, not an anti-psychotic. ;)
(It *was* sometimes tried for schizophrenia back in the day, but it doesn’t work very well for it; it was just that they didn’t have anything else back then.)
Fun fact: it’s been used as a

I wondered about that too. If the Cruise isn’t at fault why didn’t GM release the video?

The Plymouth Prowler is notable as a concept car that somehow managed to carry a lot of its concept features into production. I’m not going to say it was a great car -- among other things, it retained the concept car proportions of its windscreen, which meant I would have only been able to drive it if I never put the

I laughed, but it was a bitter laugh, because I know so many artists who’ve had NFTs minted of their work without their consent, and who will never see a dime of the money those NFTs sell for.

You could argue the gold standard was imaginary for the same reason, because while gold is tangible, it doesn’t have much utility for most people and its industrial uses alone couldn’t support its price. You can’t eat it, or build a house out of it. There’s nothing inherent about it that makes it a stable store of

In Houston people do this just to make their marriage proposal go viral.

People will pay for an emulation console if it’s portable, and well-executed. But you’re right, a set-top-box emulation console is a hard sell when it’s pretty easy to set up a Raspberry Pi to do the same thing. With a portable console you’re paying for the execution.

I wasn’t dehumanizing you, I was pointing out that the “it’s represented digitally therefore it’s not real” argument is a silly one.
