Policies like “no BS” only ever apply to the people in charge.

Needs a wing.

You can’t be charged with a moving violation just because someone borrowed your car and committed a crime. It doesn’t work that way. Only the driver can be charged.

To be fair I don’t think Jay Leno goes to the corner store for a bag of chips without a chase truck and film crew.

They hate us, but they keep feeding us as long as we keep the checks coming, is basically what it comes down to.

Yeah, and “no bullshit” is up there with “I don’t believe in tact” when it comes to people telling on themselves that they’re assholes. Any space with no rules about what you can say will eventually be taken over by the people who are loudest and most abusive.

This is a Veblen good if there ever was one.

SpaceX’s rocket designs are pretty brilliant, I admit. All his goals for them are bad, though.
“Making humanity a two-planet species” just implies he thinks billions of lives on Earth are expendable as long as he and his entourage survive on Mars.
Starship earth-to-earth is a horrendous idea because a private ballistic

And yet, Go is even more complex.

There are a lot of Teslas here but not that many. Mostly they seem to be a car for people who want green cred but don’t want to be seen in a Prius now that poor people can afford used ones.

I’m sure they’ll get the same wonderful treatment that Flint got when it got taken over.

I dunno if I’d say the urban folks are *more* dependent on rural folks. Roads and utilities in rural areas in every state I’ve lived in have been heavily subsidized by urban taxes.

The Ioniq 5's grid taillights make the 80s kid in me squee, and I think they pulled off most of the bold styling elements pretty well, including that deep side strake. That said I think both wheel options (sunflower and Thargoid) are ugly.

It depends on how far you drive, and what your off-peak electric rates are like. (If you’re charging an electric car regularly I highly recommend getting a time-of-use electric rate from your utility and setting the car’s charging timer to charge during off-peak times.) I drive on average around 15 miles a day, and

Where I grew up the driving instructors strongly suggested that our parents get us some experience before we started driver’s ed, even though it was illegal (unless you were a farm kid and could get a farm license at 14.)

It’s possible I’m just too tall; at 6' I sit further from the door mirrors than the average driver and that expands the size of the blind spot. Add in a thick B pillar that blocks normal head checks and I find myself leaning forward just to see what’s in the lane next to me. It bothered me so much partly because it

I think Tesla has shown that “advanced collision avoidance” doesn’t.

I feel like if the street grid is rage inducing enough it can sour the driving culture and *make* people bad.

The difference is in 1978 truckers were portrayed as outlaw working-man heroes who hated cops and just wanted to earn a living.

Pickup trucks are too big for Smash.
I feel like I need a Baja flag on my car now because my roof is lower than everyone’s window sills and they try to change lanes into me.
