I’m thinking rain + motorcycle + trailer (possibly unbraked) is not a good combination for stopping distance

Sure, but that’s cheating. Bars always have the best burgers. ;)

My reaction to my first and only In-N-Out experience was “I waited for 20 minutes in a room full of crying children for THIS?” Very disappointing considering the wait and how much it had been talked up to me.

Directly, no, but they can make it pretty unpleasant without crossing the line into illegal discrimination. When a particular set of beliefs is coming down from the top through the chain of command you know how it’s going to go.

That would explain it.

The pro-traffic vote is surprisingly robust.

Enough more to make up for the time and gas I’ll spend waiting in the drive-thru line at In-N-Out, though?

The howl is not because of the track gauge, but because of a different non-standard decision — they used cylindrical wheels instead of ones with tapered treads. Tapered wheels self-center so the flanges rarely touch the rails except on sharp curves, but cylindrical wheels don’t.

Traffic is 100% political, always.

I’m pretty sure In-N-Out also does that artificial scarcity thing.

So has Santa Barbara. That’s one of the things that’s so puzzling about this one being allowed to exist.

I’ve always wondered if they got special treatment for religious reasons, and that’s why they got to have a drive-thru.

They tried that. It hasn’t helped.

They city tried that, but it’s a perpetual problem and the police have better things to do than baby-sit traffic at a fast food location.

It’s the homophobia. You can get chicken anywhere, but only Chick-fil-A can promise you that it’s blessed by God and has never been touched by queer hands.

Every In-N-Out I see in SoCal is like that. I don’t get it. I can get a burger just as good at Habit without having to wait in line for 20 minutes.

This reminds me that back in the 80s some thieves once stole tools out of my grandpa’s barn, tried to use them to remove the drain plug from his truck’s fuel tank, then panicked and left the tools scattered in his driveway after discovering there was no drain plug in his particular truck’s tank.

So what’s the conspiracy theory on this one? Is it full of trafficked children too?

Boldly going forward
We can’t find reverse

I put a lithium house battery in my camper van and I’m similarly in love. It was expensive, but it solved so many problems. I’m effectively getting twice the capacity in the same space, because while in theory the difference isn’t that big — 100 Ah vs 80 — a lead acid battery can only be discharged to 50% without
