Jeez, where in CA are you paying $6/gallon? I filled up in Goleta a couple days ago and 87 octane was $4.60 here, even without a cash discount.

I wonder if the brakes will improve once broken in. The drum brakes on my Elite 80 always seemed perfectly adequate, and I locked the rear tire with them once.

In CA if it’s over 49cc and has two wheels it’s a motorcycle. If you added a sidecar you could ride it with a normal license, though. ;)

To me the main benefit of a scooter vs a motorcycle is built-in storage, so I feel like this falls a bit flat there. A good rear rack and top box (or even a milk crate) would go a long way though. One issue I’ve found with these small bikes is too much weight in the rear rack can give you death wobble. Spending a

I’ve managed to switch back and forth between motorcycles with left-hand clutch levers and scooters with left-hand rear brakes without any trouble, so I suspect you’d be all right.

That was my first thought, but then I remembered what camper vans currently sell for and it started to seem like more of a bargain.

I once bought a VW camper and found a box of condoms under the driver’s seat. They were all present and accounted for, however.

Probably both. A lot of cars now (not just Teslas) don’t come with spares, only a repair kit.

To me buying a car is like deciding what to wear. The first consideration is utility and comfort but style and the message I’m sending do figure into it.
I wouldn’t wear a tee shirt with the Tesla logo either.

No, but it was a Soviet-era Russian watch so the build quality may have been a factor. I also have very thin wrists so there’s not a lot of cushioning there.

80 inches and up needs clearance lights. The limit is 96 inches generally and 102 for buses. I think those numbers exclude mirrors.
I’m not sure how this thing is street legal if it really is 118 inches wide.

Diesels always have impressive torque numbers because they can’t rev very high. In this case the CAT C7 has its redline at 2200 RPM. Since power is torque times speed, a lower redline means more torque for the same power.
This is a mixed bag. Yes, the engine won’t be spinning as fast as a gas engine that might make its

Pilotwings got a 3DS sequel (Pilotwings Resort). But as far as I know that’s all they’ve done with it.

I once ruined a mechanical watch by wearing it on my wrist while riding an Elite 80, so I buy that this is a problem.

That’s the problem I had trying to use mine for navigation when I ride.

I dunno if I’d buy one -- the styling is just so extra -- but I keep thinking it’d be a hoot to rent one for a day on Turo.

Yup, exactly. My van will do 80+ mph easily on the flat, but there are a lot of 6% grades around here and I can only make around 45 mph up those.

Yeah, it *will* get you up the hill, you just have to be patient.

Torque doesn’t tell you anything about how fast it will get up the hill, though; you can get any level of torque required at the rear wheels via gearing. Horsepower is what tells you how fast you can get a given amount of weight up a hill.
