then you haven’t been paying attention for ~40 years.

Yea. wrenching on stacked cinder blocks the long way on a gravel lot. I’m sure if he had to torque out a bolt it would have fallen on him after a bit of tugging.
NEVER do a lift on a heavy crowned street or gravel/mud. This was an easily preventable death.  Earthquake or not it was his own stupidity that lead to this

The sheriff’s department’s press release states that the vehicle had been “jacked up safely” and that, “based on the positioning of the body and the tools on the scene, the male appeared to be working on the vehicle at the time of his death.”

Hmm - the use of cinder blocks and high-lift jack might have contributed here, don’t you think?

Don’t understand what your sexual orientation has to do with this. Damn you gays are worse than vegans. /s

Do we really consider on gravel with a high-lift and a cinderblock to be “safely jacked”?

It was in poor taste, wasn’t it?

A fender jack, and cinder blocks on plywood as ‘blocks?!’ Hardly ‘safe’ (I’ve heard of cinder blocks exploding).

What we really need is common-sense earthquake control laws.

Nearly a week in the 100 heat, not a pretty scene to walk up on.

Dental work you have anesthesia you’re under if the power goes out. Intense surgery you’re out and under so you don’t know when you’re gone.

This is why I always leave the jack in place even when I’ve got the jackstands under the corners.

The cinder block he was using was wrong type of jack stand and it was facing the wrong way to carry a load.

...so what you’re saying is that there is a Willys CJ-2A project for sale?

Your were so close! Almost a whole story about rain without mentioning Trump. I was reading with more and more excitement, until that 2nd to the last paragraph.

was just waiting for people to blame it all on trump. didnt take long.

I’m pretty sure that my personal version of hell is having my eyes forced open Clockwork Orange-style to a Twitter feed of DC commuters complaining about weather the week after a holiday.

I’m sure some kooks will blame this on “climate change”.

Not mobs.
