In Monroe, LA, there are drive up liquor stores which sell pre-made mixed drinks. They serve them to you in a to-go cup with a standard fast-food lid that allows you to use a straw. If you punch a straw through it, it becomes an “open container” and illegal. HOWEVER, if you remove the top, take a sip, and replace the

Just imagine a Tesla-powered Saab 93 Sportcombi with 700++ bhp...

Sorry, I think I need a toilet break.

I still remember, fondly, the time the guy at the oil-change place told me I should change the fluid in the rear differential on my ‘86 Taurus wagon. I told him if he could find it he could change it.

Why is there even a tool in the building used for sawing?

Yeah, not all quick lube places are terrible. I take my ‘85 CRX Si to my local Valvoline shop for most of its oil changes. They have always been extremely professional and competent.

Not sure about the rest of the country, but in California, all or most of the Valvoline locations used to go by the name of EZ Lube. But there were repeated fines and charges of fraud from various district attorneys and the state attorney general, so eventually they threw in the towel and were sold to Valvoline.

There was a guy I worked with at Honda would do this on Accords when he was doing a transmission service. The extent of people’s laziness knows no bounds.

There are many more than just two guys doing this.

Did they also show him a round air filter that looks like it came from a ‘80 Chevy Malibu all clogged with leaves and claim it came from his car’s square air filter box and that he needs a new air filter?

More than just two, I had the undertray of my 2011 Elantra Touring replaced by a shop after one of their techs just ripped it off without removing the fasteners first. The manager actually saw it before I did and had already ordered the replacement part and made my oil change free by the time I came to pick the car

You guys are worse than vegans.

Why do they even have access to cutting tools?

You would have to drain it, fill it, run it and drain it again. Even seen eddies in a stream? That or drain it and wait a very long time to be sure the thicker heavier sludge actually moved to space cleared out by the draining. Then drain again.

The pld gasket staying on caused a recall on Rav-4s, I believe, several years ago because it "caused" engine fires. What was REALLY causing the engine fires was the extremely lazy tech not even bothering to look to see if the old gasket was still on there before screwing on the new filter.

Nor is the air around you. That's what's in the compressor, just at a higher pressure.

and they won't break the air filter box by prying it open, and not tell you that they broke it. Probably.

*cringes at the thought of dealership monkeys washing / detailing a car with the same scratchy, dirty sponges, rags, and towels they've been using all day*

Thanks. Keep in mind that was the car I drove in my senior year of high school. It's been pretty much of a let down ever since.

I would say no, technically, but it makes the process move along a lot more smoothly when you have documentation. I keep all of my work receipts in the glove box so I don't even worry about where they might be.
