I have no personal experience with fancy-dancy new cars, but shifters like this sound like the manufacturer trying to do ANYTHING to try to seem “cool” and “different.”

Manuals usually don’t have a “Park” position.

Because there’s no reason to, onless you’re parked on a decent hill, so the “Park” pawl doesn’t get so loaded. Ironically, winter is the time you SHOULD make it a point to use the PB a little more often, to ensure it doesn’t freeze up!
