I was able to get it to run on my Newton, not sure why you can't put it on your 3G. Hrm.

Wait, so when you migrate the master account, it migrates all the child accounts automatically?
I'm *almost* positive that you can use multiple iCloud accounts on one device, just that you can't have the same services enabled for each. So you can both use the same Apple ID and enjoy different accounts for Contacts/Calendars/Sharing/Backup.
How exactly does Newsstand work? I don't see anything on the shelves, and when I click on the store, I get a list of iOS apps like the NYTimes that I already have installed.
Make sure you've done a full backup (encrypted, preferably) before attempting to update. Also make sure gs.apple.com doesn't appear in your /etc/hosts file, if you mucked with it during the beta.
What happens if I migrate my Family Pack's master account without removing the child accounts? What's the smartest way to do this migration? At least one of the child accounts it going to take months to get their act together and I'd prefer to not have to wait. Has anyone done this?
I am the head account on my MobileMe family pack, and I'm worried that if I migrate my account (me.com/move) before the child accounts migrate, it might cause problems. Has anyone done this, and can it be confirmed that my fears are unfounded? #icloud #mobileme #migration #openthread #ios5
iMessage is rolled out but as you pointed out, it only works between devices running iOS 5.
Messages is iMessage + SMS in one
It's not for everyone, but I'm really digging my BookBook. I only put a few wallety-essentials (one credit card and my rail pass) in the wallet portion. It's a pleasure to hold when you're reading anything. [twelvesouth.com]
You sir are a genius
I've considered moving my potted basil plant indoors, but am too afraid of the bugs I might let in, specifically the ones I might not see upon inspection.
Well frozen is an entirely different thing. If you've never blended a frozen banana into ice-cream-like consistency, you're missing out. But my original point was to refrigerate them when they're ripe to avoid having them turn into mealy, mushy bananas, which seems to happen more often than not when I buy a bunch of…
Totally. But don't eat that annoying little black stem thing, it tastes weird.
Just read this in Cooks Illustrated: You can take perfectly ripe bananas and put them in the refrigerator to keep them longer. The skin will blacken but the inside will remain perfectly ripe for up to 2 weeks. #openthread #tips
Might be a good time to point out that you ought to encrypt your backup whenever doing a restore — that way you don't have to re-enter all your account passwords (gmail, etc.)
Cool. I'm far less worried about the star than I am about my place in the community. I'll earn it back eventually, I hope.
I upgrade my wife. Glad to have someone to iMessage with! The 3GS is humming along just fine.
I got this error too. Make sure you are doing a *restore*, not an update (opt-click 'restore'). Also make sure the phone has successfully finished syncing before you start the update. To be safe, sync it once more.
hey alan, for whatever it's worth, i'd like to apologize for the lame post, it was a heat of the moment comment that looks more and more childish each time i see it. sorry.
