FWIW, I’ve noticed that many (most?) US airports use third parties to assist with mobility impaired passengers.

I really don’t understand the point of the “Last Chance” session on Sunday. All that’s going to do is make it more likely that someone will crash out of the starting grid, with very little to gain - you’re still starting on the last row. What happens if none of those drivers goes out to set a time?
The problem is that spacecraft launches must close airspace far to the east of the Cape, as a failed launch may drop debris along a pretty long path, depending on exactly when a failure occurs. Spacecraft have not yet shown the levels of reliability required to fly over members of the general public.
This is totally a Bond supervillain ride.
Yes. Another option: drop a portion of the counterweight to balance the payload, at the same time as the payload.
Coworker’s parents: “you need to go buy this Ford Fiesta from a rental car company”.
Too bad that part Tesla eliminated was the “Stop Auto Pilot Crash” part.
When on vacation several years ago in Paris, they had candy vending machines on the Metro platforms. Including Haribo Orangina gummies - shaped like the inverted lightbulb Orangina bottles. These are hands down the best gummi flavor I’ve had. I spend the rest of the vacation scouring the vending machines whenever…
Agree on the need to fix the financing after the fact. I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee last fall. They had an offer on sale price that was attractive - but only if you took their finance offer - which was ridiculously high (e.g. 5.9% for 60 months minimum - I was looking for 48 months.). After some back and forth, I…
This may not be a popular take, but c’mon, Jimmie Johnson is there for the PR benefit to Indycar and Ganassi...
Hardly much of a crime, but: when I was in high school in NE Ohio, the roads would be covered with packed snow (slightly grippy ice) for months at a time.
I used to have fun with my mother’s ‘82 Buick Century, by driving down a straight road in my neighborhood, then putting the ebrake on (pedal-type). The car’s front…
I was working grid at Summit Point (WV) for a track day earlier this year. An SUV with Texas plates was driving through the paddock, with the middle aged driver looking around. Then, instead of making a right to continue in the paddock, they turned left toward pit out. Then they slammed on the brakes, and looked…
My Jeep Grand Cherokee sitting in my driveway has active noise cancellation. Works pretty good too
Ironically, the photo at the top of this article is Monument Valley, which is not a National Park.
So...how would you classify Gene Haas?
Love the article.
IndyCar also has wheel tethers, and they seem to work pretty well except when the whole wheel hub comes off the car (or the pit crew doesn’t get them to lock)
IIRC (it was 25+ years ago), when I moved into Missouri and registered my ~1 year old car, I needed to show that I paid at least the amount of tax I would have paid in Missouri in the state where I purchased it. If not, I would have had to pay the difference to Missouri. (At least I think it was Missouri. I moved a…
Pretty subtle usernames, too.
