HAHAHA, really. Swipe to unlock is necessary for the mobile industry? A specific industrial design has been standardized by an international standards body? Don't be a moron.

Learn the difference between what is and isn't a Standards Essential Patent, before spouting nonsense.

Yeah, how dare someone have a different dream workspace than you. Idiots.

Yeah, if you like wearing ski goggles around...

The comment about the 3GS still being a top selling phone was just to illustrate product logevity, and shelf life. The "sheep" comment was sarcasm. I'm with you on this, my original response should really have been directed more at geolemon than you, not sure why I replied to you and not him.

You're right, "exactly" was too strong a word, but the won't look significantly worse, except in comparison to higher dpi apps.

"eye straining" wasn't really used as an insult in that article.

The concept of a "retina display" is dependent not on some flat pixel density, it is dependant on the average viewing distance as well. Since the iPad has a larger screen, and a longer average viewing distance, the equavalent "retina display" would be a lower density.

But they won't look like shit. They will look exactly as they do now. The compatible/upgraded ones will just look better. Just like when the retina display for the iPhone was announced (which had a few select initial partners). The OS handles the resolution difference, and you won't even see any changes until you

I love how Android people always bring up that one notification thing (which apple improved upon) and conveniently forget all the other stuff that Google has used as "inspiration" from iOS.

Is it really too much trouble to call old friends ahead of time and let them know?

"Fight the good fight"?

Blasphemy, Google never rips off anyone. They are the most original and innovative company on the planet. Take your anti-google bias somewhere else.

"all the zeal of a 7th grade girl running for student council"

haha

But that is exactly integration, not having to take action to make those things in sync. Taking away the cable is a pretty big deal. But this extends so far beyond notes and photos. Documents can now be saved directly to icloud; no need to even sync to your iPad/iPhone to view documents there, they're just there. All

It was really more akin to the notification bubbles that pop up in the Windows taskbar, and showing those same notifications on the home screen than a dedicated notification center alone (there were not really any push notifications back then, or any apps that required it — mostly email and text message listings), but

THey completely rewrote wp7, mostly because winmo 6 sucked horrendously.

They are only borrowing the ideas, not the interfaces or interactions. They are doing a good job of keeping the keyboard/mouse interaction intact, but creating seamless integration across devices. I think they're, so far, doing a good job with it. Sure, some of their skeuomorph concepts are a bit unnecessary, but for

No, and I think nearly no one has.
