I'm a flash developer, as well as front end html/js designer and a php developer. I have had, plenty of times, to fix a broken function. It's difficult when it's someone else's code, for sure. But it's just as difficult to fix any broken custom functions.

I run into way more pdf menus than flash ones. And PDF menus are, IMO, worse than flash, because in-browser pdf solutions all pretty much suck right now, and downloading the file just to check the menu is more annoying than a flash based one.
