Agreed with Kyle. The AV Club loves plenty of big-budget action movies and I think their enthusiasm for pop culture always shines through. I think people are taking issue with the review for dissing the action scenes. Is that so offensive? Is it inconceivable that the director of Elf and Zathura can't direct a

It's not like all action scenes are created equal. Robot-on-robot action scenes (Iron Man, Transformers) always have problems because there's no ebb and flow to the battle; it's just a series of meaningless hits back and forth until the script decides who wins.

Also Christian Bale said he'd chain himself to a radiator in his hotel room if the script had Robin in it.

A general rule would be not to include anything that Jeph Loeb created.

Sweet
It also comes in a sweet box with a sweet soundtrack CD.

Again to draw on the Sweeney Todd comparison, I think it is intentional that he loses sight of his family as motivation. In the first game, revenge was about some kind of justice being wrought. In the 2nd (and I assume 3rd) it is about personal gratification. The Prestige, or something like the Count of

I never really got the impression that we were supposed to sympathize with Kratos past the first game. I think it was pretty clear that this is a Sweeney Todd-esque saga and we're just supposed to watch revenge take itself to where it goes logically; without some stupid cop-out where Kratos gets to have is revenge and

I got it at Blockbuster for 10$ yesterday. They are unloading all their copies of the game.

I was thinking the same thing. Those clips didn't make me want to watch the movie though.

I played it a lot, but mostly because my friends had it. The art style and set pieces keep the game varied as much as such things can, but the button mashing does tend to get stale during extended play sessions. If you can get it with a friend I'd say yes.

You've done it now, Teti.

Out of all the games coming out in March this is the one that has, weirdly, grabbed my attention the most. But I feel like if I bought this instead of God of War III that something bad would happen to me…

Are you describing a need for pacing?

come now
Everyone laughed at the pooing deer in Castle Crashers.

Yeah it didn't seem like the reviews for this game were overwhelmingly positive anyways. Plenty of other sites that gave this game a negative review will thin the fanboy herd.

Wait, I want to hear the actual explanation.

I think the other 2 were released on the PS2 as Yakuza 3 is already a couple of years old. I think Yakuza 4 is already out in Japan or is coming out soon.

worst stereotype
Sazh vs. Cole from Gears of War. Who wins? I haven't played FFXIII so I have to admit that I'm judging his character merely by the size of his afro.

Thanks for that. The way battles dice rolls are done now sounds so much better than the current method and feels like it will cut down on gamble invasions. Pretty much every feature I've read about this game so far sounds like an improvement over IV.

Ah well, I like the sound of big complicated ideas.
