Not jailbroken. Tried restoring and many different things, but freezing persists. Apple won't replace it, tried that as well!

I have an iPhone 5, that thing freezes constantly! Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone, but the the freezing really gets me.

Why is this so expensive?? I'm not an Apple fanboy or anything, but their upgrades usually cost $30, correct? Why does Apple, who has a market of people who are willing to spend more money, price their upgrades so low and Microsoft, whose prices are usually cheaper, cost so much?
