Zoning challenges. Given the massive abuses of property that occur when the world descends on Austin for SXSW, acl, and formula one, the city is rightfully looking to protect residents from those abuses. Plus I'm sure they want some moolah in the form of taxation for their troubles. This is govt after all...

And how about Proof of Insurance, liability AND health, while we are at it?

Alllllll teh tech bros in Austin are losing their shit bc the city wants to require that drivers undergo fingerprinting and background checks. Somehow protecting people from unknowingly getting in a car with a criminal is “anti-innovation.”

Why yes absolutely!!!

IT IS KNOWN.

I have long, long thought some famous musical artist should parody 90s BBC P&P in a music video. That dip in the pond scene would be crucial, as would the argument scene when he storms out of Collins’ house.

This is a salient-as-hell point.

This is exactly how I took it, but I suspect as a Bernie supporter I have some confirmation bias I should examine. I suspect that same bias is on both sides— those who are eager to see Sanders fail are happy to glom onto this as some misstep, and no actual opinions were genuinely shifted as a result of his verbiage

We were always fixating on some unassuming object of our attention, assigning them endearing nicknames, and in a way that was a bizarre

I'm confused... I thought it was Joshua that got swatted?

I wanna hug that guy!

Sorry to be “that guy,” but the people who give away their products pay handsomely for the privilege. It’s considered “product placement.” I think it’s ridiculous and a total waste of money, but this is Hollywood we are talking about, so... meh.

My employer is frequently, persistently approached by these swag bag folks to not just give them oodles of free product, but pay a tidy sum for the privilege. We are amazed at what they'd very much like to charge us for our giving them a ton of free shit. It's unreal.

It was somewhere around the beginning of the second paragraph of this article that I realized Wolfie would suffer very little consequence beyond what he has already “suffered.”
