I was responding to the question of why Sony would proceed as they have if they don’t believe the allegations.
Sony did something similar to George Michael when he wanted out of his contract with them. Prince went through something similar with Warner. They are not going to let someone out of a contract unless it benefits them to do so.
I have the opposite problem. The writers who most inspire me are Joan Didion, Susan Sontag, Patti Smith, Annie Dillard, and Marilynne Robinson. I guess Douglas Coupland, Wendell Berry, and John Berger are men, so I can think of some male writers who inspire me.

I’ve lived in Santa Barbara for 14 years. I could maybe believe that a Roman Catholic church, or a New Age congregation, or the Unitarian Society is “popular in the town,” but only a highly subjective perspective would identify a non-denominational church as “popular in the town.”
