My school made it where you could cheer after every three rows (about 50 kids) since they knew no one was going to be able to hold out through the whole ceremony. There were a few out of place cheers, but that just got a quick “please, hold your enthusiasm” and then they kept going.

I don’t think anyone needs to be arrested over this, but I will say that I personally find it rude and disrespectful to cheer loudly when there’s been a specific request to hold applause until the end. Maybe it would be better if schools just did away with that request, sure, but if that’s what’s asked, then it’s

Thank you! As a fellow Oregonian, I came here to post the same thing. I still find it awesome that we Oregonians were pretty meh about Stu being elected.

No! There are like 25 other stories that came out in the past 24 hours. But you know that, you’re just being contrarian.

But I don’t think it’s some great push to recognize underrepresented trans issues on the part of Gawker media, either. (That would be great!) Caitlyn Jenner is a trending topic, and Gawker Family

Is that too many? Eight in 24 hours is the pre-determined, objective amount of stories on trans issues that officially puts you over the edge? Do you have a link to support that statement?

Yes. Sorry. Bye.

I know someone who just had the surgery, without any healthcare. The amount of planning and saving it took to get to this point is staggering, but he’s just so happy and relieved to have been able to do it.

Please dismiss the trolls.

She wanted it unopened for hygiene reasons. They didn’t open it in front of her they just produced an open can when she ordered diet coke. You don’t know what nasty ass thing someone could have done to that can. While it’s unlikely your drink is drugged on a plane someone could have spat in it or deliberately or

I know Tahera. She is the real deal, and a totally reasonable human being who gives everybody the benefit of the doubt. This is bullshit and shouldn’t happen to anyone. But it probably happens all the time, and I’m glad she’s in a position to call it out.

Hand on hip is a completely benign pose. Seriously, dig little me in the 1970s learning a dance routine from my cousin to the The Carpenter’s “On Top of The World”. The horror!

What backwoods place do you live that people don’t put a hand on their hip on occasion? It’s a normal, HUMAN thing to do. The fact that you associate putting a hand on your hip solely with Pamela Anderson is fucking weird. I’m a,so guessing that if your daughter at 19 was dressing up as Pam Anderson you are in your

Yes. People undergoing treatment for cancer DO have a hard time staying the same dress or pant size as pre chemo!

Related: I’m glad marital rape, domestic violence and abuse are now crimes. No matter how sweet the clothes were back in The Day.

My mom gained weight during her pregnancies (she bore seven of us, was pregnant eleven times); she hated the weight and wanted it off. During the 60s, she was taking “pills” prescribed by the doctor to help her lose weight. I think it was speed. She was a right bitch, until dad threw the pills away.

Well yeah, sure, the author should just become a shut-in until her kid turns 18 then I guess.

Crying children irritate me just as much as the next person, but the last time I checked, this is goddamn America, and I recognize your right to be on that plane, same as me. Having a child doesn’t mean you have to stop living your life and limiting where you go because your child might, I dunno, ACT LIKE WE ALL DID

Most of the sewing pattern companies (McCall’s, Simplicity, Vogue, Butterick) are reissuing classic patterns from the 30s through the 70s. Dresses like this are fairly simple and easy to make, because housewives of the 50s had to economize a lot to stay home fulltime. Most of them are collarless (collars are a right

Mr. Ferret and I are planning to do a small civil ceremony with a few close friends/family in attendance, then go out and have a nice dinner afterward. No traditional reception. If the older sister only did this because her younger sister was engaged and she wanted to “beat her,” that’s pretty weird. But I don’t see

Some people don’t want a big wedding and to do the whole thing. Sometimes being married is enough!
