I call that dickmatized too! How old is your Mom? (I'm pushing 50)

#notallwomen

There's nothing to reject, which makes it even clearer you don't get it.

You're not picking up what I'm putting down.

So cute! So yummy!!

This response is the epitome of #notallchristians

She compared the baby to it's father. What is jabbing about that?

No! We're looking at the cute toes that mama posted of her baby's toes. Shakira said herself, the baby has daddy's toes. I think it's okay for us to comment on it.

I hope you're right about things changing. I'm a fairly cynical old broad by this time, and I know the pendulum always swings, but I'm worried about how far right we're going to have to go before it swings back to the left.

You've stumped me. I'm going to have to mull this one over!

That does all make sense. Clearly we agree that nobody should be judgmental about other's beliefs, and that being a christian in the US is a privilege.

I appreciate the time and effort it took to respond, but your argument basically boils down to #notallchristians, which doesn't negate my personal (bad) experience.

Here's the thing, when you've been criticized and judged for your parenting (like my mother and I have both been for being atheist), it's a little bit hard to have sympathy for the people who have been doing that criticizing and judging when it turns out they really aren't any better than us, and frankly they're worse

But atheists aren't trying to legislate on their personal beliefs. If religious folks would respect me and my choices in my life, I would respect them right back.

I love your comments in general, but these were exceptional.

I respect them just fine. As long as they keep their beliefs out of my life (via legislation).

Thank you for all your contributions to this thread! I've been reading it at work for the last few hours and want to give you ALL the stars!

In my experience (as an atheist from an atheist family, growing up in the 70's), religious people are much more inclined to judge other people's beliefs (or lack thereof), than any atheist I've ever known.

The things I miss most are: Lottaburger with green chiles, Frontier huevos rancheros, and the sunsets.

Nobody's telling "you" that. If you choose to internalize it, maybe there's a reason for it.
