The little girl’s father was a State Alchemist (government funded) who became famous for creating a talking chimera (secretly made when he fused his wife with an animal; he told people she left as a cover).
I’m pretty sure the question of whether one is an asshole depends on whether you return your shopping cart to where it goes, or just let it roll around the parking lot.
Just for the record, I’ve only ever seen one episode of Full Metal Alchemist, randomly on Toonami one night, not knowing anything about the series. It was this episode. I haven’t really watched much Full Metal Alchemist since.
The father was a state researcher whose efforts were in danger of losing funding. He fused his daughter into her dog, in order to secure his funding. Let’s skip to where it’s different’.
