But the Killer Bee sketch was funny. And so was the Land Shark sketch. All three sketches were very funny. All of 'em. Except the Turkey one.

HAIM and Lana are similar in that they are both very earnestly, very emphatically being ironically preposterous. Lana is a very self obsessed ironic performer, and HAIM are a very selfless ironic act. Similar but different.
I know what you are. You're a trouble maker, aren't you? Yeah, you're a real trouble maker…
Dan, as to your assessment of Aidy Bryant's talents, I totally agree with you. She is OK as the pathetic fat girl, but she's so flat (get it!?) and underwhelming in everything else. And oh yeah, that Bassface was creeping me out. Spinal Tap were watching and they all agreed, "Too much Bassface."
Nope, you'd have correctly concluded, as I did, that it was a half baked, poorly executed bit of low brow nonsense. It wasn't surreal and it wasn't over the top preposterous. It was just flat, dull, tedious - just like my sister-in-law's Thanksgiving turkey. The sketch made me ask "What the Cluck?!"
He's (she's?) deeply concerned - with being an ignorant, misinformed, arrogant, spoiled, despicable, repulsive, typical American. Americans; yeuch.
The only joke the insect sketch needed was the reporter saying "I'm going to the supermarket." That's because the whole sketch built so beautifully to that moment. I had no idea what to expect, where the hell that utter nonsensical sketch was going, and then *BAM* he reveals that even he, the reporter, doesn't believe…
Of the new gang the only one that stood out to me was the Reporter interviewing insects. He was very natural and very funny. Beck Bennet did nice work, too.
Pretty Good. Not excellent, Not Awful. Prit-tay, prit-tay good.
Just 'cause he shot ya down don't mean he didn't go an' get hisself some somewheres else, do it? No, no it don't.
3 Quick points: 1) Kate McKinon is hilarious, a natural comedienne. 2) Aidy Bryant is a mystery to me. I just don't get her appeal. She's adequate at best. 3) Beck Bennet was the MVP. He nailed his bits and has real star charisma. That's it, carry on…
Kid, you've moxy. I hate moxy.
I sincerely sympathize with your bitter indignation at the preposterous deafness of so many otherwise sensible music lovers. How is it possible that 98% of these 1,500+ comments are not ranting & raving over Jimi's extraterrestrial artistry? This truly is a mad, foolish, silly world.
OK, let's just say it's one of the all time greatest horrible solos. I can live with that.
Everything SRV did was simply awesome but I tend to prefer his Texas Swing and jazzier tunes, such as "Scuttlebuttin," "Mary Had A Little Lamb," and "Stang's Swang." These sort of songs really capture the joy and passion he had not just for the guitar but also for playing in a smoking tight band.
I dunno. Sounds like Waffles loves it just a bit more. Naw, I keed, I keed.
Downvoting Santana?! Some people just seem to want to be dead and buried.
Everyone keeps saying that, but I love R&H's soulful gospel vibe, even if it was a bit of a pretentious put on. Bono pulled it off, IMHO, because he genuinely loves that kind of music, and the arrangements, production and engineering are all superb. BB King is awesome and he takes Edge to school.
"Achilles Last Stand" on Presence is my favorite Page solo(s). He recorded and overdubbed it all in less than one hour with only two takes so it has a very live feel to it. The version recorded at Knebworth in '79 on the DVD of various shows is astonishing.
Shitstorm of Fuck is a new SyFy Channel movie, like Shaknado but with more flying sharks.
