I think about this more often than one probably should. There’s a spectrum of quality in the anecdotes. Stuff like Skillet or Serious Eats - you don’t even realize you’re reading a long intro because it’s meaningful. A good intro won’t seem unnecessary. IMO, it should have a mix of personal anecdote and good science -

I agree with everything. The animation is a little stiff. I think it might be trying to ape the comic style too fully? I don’t know. Still looks good.

Lol, I keep thinking “Arcade would work for this” too. Doubt they’ll ever bring him into the MCU as a full fledged villain, though.

Why did we sit through a whole subplot of Wakandan science mapping Vision’s brain and it didn’t do a lick? Thats one hell of a red herring, imo. Obvs his body is damaged, but I still have a hard time believing he stays dead.

I think they picked the perfect pair for that scene. Darcy is dialed back a bit, too, which is really nice. I loved. Wu is terrific. I love that he's pretty competent but doesn't have much creativity - he's the right kind of silly.

“Two flours.”

I have bread, unbleached AP, bleached AP, and cake flour right now. Usually also rye and whole wheat.

I’m real picky, though. Probably dropping the Cake when it’s gone. We usually just use the box which is cake flour already (and the other stuff).

The Whopper is messy good. Five Guys gets all the attention for their condiments. You take those away, take away the onslaught of fries - you got nothin. The burger on its own ain’t nothin. The fries’ only strength is the amount. They get soggy real quick.

Culvers is pretty dang good.

Big fan of Checkers/Rally’s as

Man, my kids are always asking to try my ice cream because I’m the only one in the family who will order the more creative flavors. Or just coffee. Anyway, I now have this cited article to show my wife when she thinks I’m weird for thinking sharing ice cream cones is weird.

The best tips I’ve found are to make sure your cooked potatoes are nice and dry before incorporating anything else. Mash them dry. Then, I always get the butter in - lots of butter. Let that soak in, then add the milk or cream (depends on the day!). If I’m really going for it, I add some sour cream and cream cheese

Honestly, I think its more realistic that he ends up teaching. He’s a bright kid who never applies himself. He’s like a million bright kids who never apply themselves (close to home, tbh).

The other stuff - Future Foundation; Parker Industries - are fun, but I really felt the teacher piece was a winner and fit the

They don’t really taste like beets. I think beets taste like dirt (I also think mangos taste like dirt). The dirt is an aftertaste.

They don’t taste like much of anything, really. Like a real weak radish maybe.  I like them a lot but they have to be cooked for a LONG time I find.

I never think of Gremlins as a Christmas movie. It works as a “birthday” movie or whatever. I mean, I didn’t even think about it being a Christmas movie until it was explicitly referenced in some listicle.

And I know the main point of Home Alone thematically (kind of) is he has to spend the holiday alone, but I’ve also

I agree with all these points. It definitely needed a little more work, imo, but it was a great idea and pretty fun. My family enjoyed it but I don’t think we’ll add it to our usual list.

High school teacher Parker felt like such an authentic evolution.

Not as introduced in the comics, but I think he works way better as a character if he’s not 100% douche all the time.

I encounter a lot of folk who think 90s Spider-Man was the height. I think it’s fine, but it definitely does not hold up. It gets a lot right, but there’s some crazy flaws. The pacing is so frenetic, for one. It’s just go-go-go with a LOT of leaning on the voice-over for exposition.

It was one of my first real

The baron eating pizza was one of those rare TV moments where I had to pause because I was laughing too hard.

The Spider-Man Animated Series is pretty fun, but man, is the pacing NUTS. Each episode goes at a crazy pace.

I was just skimming Ratio by Ruhlmann last night and was gleeful to see the ratio for cookies right here in this recipe!

Dear Pulitzer Committee,
